I'm sorry, but to me the finished piece still looks like something found at the Salvation Army. I have a similar dresser made with cherry wood. Putting such a dark stain on it would make it look awful. I was hoping for something a bit more creative and dramatic so I could get ideas for the re-do of my dresser. I absolutely LOVE this desk idea. However, the faux "legs" at the front look seriously stupid and takes away from the beauty of the build-in piece. Real legs? Sure. Fake legs? No way! Upcycled Style: Recycled Floorboards to Built-In Desk Los Angeles Times |

The "after" is horrid. The "cottage chic" bottom does not go with the "old warm patina" top, even with the weird painte stripes. The "odd" triagular bits of wood added interest to an otherwise ho-hum piece of furniture. I would love to see what the designer could have done with that. Unfortunately, the "after" is something that I would pass up at Goodwill. Before & After: Third Time's a Charm DIY Cabinet Forever Decorating |

Well, they could have shown a picture. I have black/white checked dishes and a beautiful white coffee service. Was thinking it would look cold in a party situation. PICTURES of a set table would have been nice. A list and picture graphic of things to buy is not helpful. Entertaining Elements: Setting an Organic Black & White Table |
