I am sad the cure is wrapping up too. I have fallen off schedule a little as I have been dealing with having to get my beautiful little dog put to sleep two weeks ago :(

I will go back through my inbox to help with clearing my outbox! So mine will be more like a six week cure!

Well done to everyone who has stayed on task. I love reading all the daily posts and comments and getting inpiration from everyone's efforts. I'm going to miss the camaraderie!

I recently changed my pantry completely and love the results. It is amazing what you can do with an old linen cupboard, a box of swing top jars, a couple of baskets and old fruit crates.

I smile whenever I look at it, I have the satisfaction of a job well done and I love cooking every chance I get!

The biggest positive was that it makes me feel so happy and it didn't cost me a cent!

Hi Stellabystarlight. I put in a new bag after wiping the bag space out with a damp cloth moistened with a few drops of lavender oil. While waiting for it to dry, I deodorised my matress by shaking some bicarb/lavender oil on it. Since vacuuming the matress and doing my floors twice the smell seems to have improved. I smell lavender now when I clean, not 'old dog'.

I have an ever-shedding darling little Chihuahua so I am feeling your pain. I read somewhere it is almost impossible to get rid of the smell completely out of your vacuum cleaner but so far the bicarb/lavender in the bag helped keep the smell tolerable. Hope this helps! On that note, I am off to do my rugs!

Day 3: Weekend Chores - Flowers, Floors, Green Cleaners & Outbox Apartment Therapy January Cure - Day 3

I invited a friend and her husband in person to brunch at my house. On the day, they never showed. Wanting to salvage my day, (as I was feeling a little 'what did I do?' when they said they were coming and turned up to be a no-show) I decided a little retail therapy would make me feel better. Who should I run into at the mall?... She had nothing to say.

Another friend I invited to dinner called me 5 minutes before I was about to serve and said she had a stomach bug. This excuse has also been used by family. I don't know what it is, I am a great cook and I love sharing my time and company, but it seems whenever I extend the hospitality, people don't want to know about it.

I tend to agree it is a commitment thing. Obviously right up to the last minute, people don't know if they are in the mood for you or it is too much effort.
