@the_asp:
Just wanted to let you know that I got the rug from Ikea but I'm not sure that they make it anymore, I couldn't find it on their website. It's called Jorun if that helps. Good luck!

Yes, We had a house tour 2 years ago at our old rental house, we bought our new place in March 2010 an it's been a work in progress ever since. I'd always love to do a new house tour as I really enjoyed doing the first one.

Anyway, here's the link to the old house tour and a link to a nursery tour we had this spring for our new arrival, Gus.

Thanks again for voting and looking!

Love, love, love the Ferm Living wallpaper, I am planning on using that in one of the rooms in my house in the very near future.

Your room looks awesome!

Hi @Bellamia,

It's actually not fabric in the front entry, although I can see how that might look from the photo, it's wallpaper made by Orla Kiely and you can find here at the Orla Kiely Store

Hope that helps,
Alison

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the feedback! I love that there are so many "Hallowed Hush" fanatics out there. It's such a great color, I've used it in my last 2 apartments too.

breejasper: Just wanted to let you know I picked the sconce up last year at the home depot, it reasonably priced and looks great. I'd recommend it. Here's the link: Wall Sconce @ Home Depot

Hey Everybody,
Thanks again for checking out the room, it's cool to hear that everyone is digging the grey and yellow.

acfelmadann,
I got the swallow mobile a few years ago at modern nursery here's the link:

Nicole,
I love your blog!

Your August is too cute. I always loved the name Gus but it wasn't until I was reading your blog that I realized Gus could be short for August instead of Gustav or Augustus or something like that, then I was sold.

Okay, here it is, sorry for the delay. Normally I get my paint at the home depot but this time I picked it up at my local ace hardware. We used mythic paint and had it matched to Pratt & Lambert 2244 "pearl white".

Hope that info helps!

typwc,
I totally go through color phases, I love turquoise and grey, and then I recently started throwing yellow and some orange into the mix too.
I am no expert but I will tell you what I did at my house, as you know, my son Finn's room is a vibrant "asparagus" green and I didn't even hesitate to paint the other upstairs bedrooms and hallway colors in much more subtle blues and greys I'm sure it is a contrast but I figure kid's rooms are kid's rooms, and you can get away with a lot. My best advice is to go with your gut.

emileo,
There is a reason I left that part blank, I meant to look it up later... duh. I will totally look at my can of paint when I get home and let you know what color it is. Usually I know every shade of color of paint on my house but I failed to pay attention when it came to this room.

melichan,
Good question, the budget was less than $1000 and after adding all of it up we did it for apprx $750.

Here is how it breaks down:
Paint: $50
Qulit: $50
Curtains: $80
Crib: Reused
Desk: Alley Find
Window Bench: $60
Bins in window bench: $30
Toys and books: re-purposed
Dresser: $100
Owl lamp: $40
Lamp shade: $15
Crochet Pillow: made from scrap yarn and pillow form
Art work from etsy & frames: $100
Hook on the back of the door: $8
Hanging bookshelf: Re-purposed
Photos & Frames: $16
Rocker base: $90
Pouf: $90
Mirror: $25

Thanks everyone for your interest!

Thanks Roonz for the chair, Finn loves it, but not for reading, that's where he makes breakfast for his lion friend, duh.

It wasn't mentioned above but if anyone wants more info check my blog, www.deucecitieshenhouse.com for more details.

Thanks!

Hey Everybody! Thanks so much for all the awesome comments. I really appreciate all the feedback.

And now to answer some questions:
Ana: Yes that is a Bruce Sprinsteen pillow, I made it myself and am very proud of it. It's a crocheted pillow with crossstiched yarn over the top. Sleeping with Bruce is the best.

jettsam: The dog in the painting is a Beagle we used to have named Buckley, my friend Matt Scharenbroich painted the portrait and if you would like to contact him about a pet portrait or if you'd just like to check out some of the paintings he has for sale you can reach him at www.mattscharenbroich.com

milemiki: Here is a direct link to that CB2 pendant lamp, it's a steal at $49.95, I plan on hard wiring once I move into my new home.

thatmeggirl: I got the fabric on the chairs at great fabric store in Minneapolis called Crafty Planet, here is a direct link to the store and the fabric by Anna Marie Horner.

mjs7640: You are right, Minneapolis is great! I got the curtains from Ikea. I scoured Ikea's online store looking for them so that I could post a link, but couldn't find them. Last time I was at an actual Ikea store, (less than a month ago) I saw them. So they might be out there somewhere. Sorry I don't have more info then that.

Thanks again for all the comments!

I just recently took on the same project. I bought fabric from a local store (which also sells fabric online www.craftyplanet.com) in Minneapolis. It was super easy and not so scary. The good thing about this kind of upholstery is that it's easy to change, so if you don't like it in a few years or the fabric wears, just change it out!
