I too would add railings (for my rambunctious 6 year old) but I second that it's quite beautiful in it's simplicity. Especially as a reading nook for an older kid. What great memories they'll have!! How To Make a Simple Tree House Apartment Therapy Tutorials |

While these bikes are beautiful to look at they're completely unnecessary. We went to Goodwill, got a used Trek for $10, popped off the pedals and my 3 year old was off a running all on his own in only a few weeks!
