Kakerley, I frosted my ground floor bay windows (thin layer of acrylic glaze painted on the glass- it removes with water if I ever change my mind) for privacy.

The bay window is the only real architectural detail in my living area (unless you count a ceiling medallion above an ugly builder grade chandelier). Is there a way to make the bay window the focus of the room without emphasizing that there is no view? I was thinking about framing the window in crown molding but wasn't sure if it would attract even more attention to the frosted panes... opinions?

Are these bigger than KA stand mixers? I've never been able to justify the cabinet space for a KA but this one looks like it could have a smaller footprint yet I see comments that people like these for big batches which makes me think it must be bigger...

lol, TAmom, you must have Korean parents! That's something mine, would say!!! Ah the memories of my mother waking up super early to make these before we went to the beach are priceless. My Aunt would make kimbab and then dip the pieces in egg and quickly fry them. When our families' would meet up the kids would eat half from her tupperware and half from my mom's! (and BTW, it isn't a snack, it's lunch!!)

Late to the game on this post but my Mom freaked out when she saw them at my local grocery store. (I have never seen her so excited to see a vegetable before.) She promptly bought 5 pounds of them and the next time I saw her she presented me with a jar of chayote pickles. We're Korean and I'm pretty darn sure these aren't native to Korea so I have no idea where she's come across it before or how she knew what to do with it but it did make one darn tasty pickle at least somewhat deserving of her awesome public freak out about running across these vegetables.

I've tried this before (and got all excited) but soon found out that the "new" pressed powder is even more fragile than the original version :( And I did repack it really firmly!

I did this with my street level window glass... so simple, cheap, awesome, and washes off if you change your mind next year!! Totally will fuzz everything out so colors from your dvd cases will probably still read through but in an abstract kind of way!

I did this on my ground floor, sidewalk facing windows and still think it was the best privacy idea, ever... http://lifehacker.com/399731/increase-your-privacy-with-16-diy-window-frosting
