The 5- and 8-year old boys I baby-sit for every week *love* to use their 2nd floor chute to practice their baseball pitching (as in balling up their clothes, and sometimes the other pretends to be the catcher and "assists" the play). Apartment Therapy Chicago | Look! Laundry Chute in the Kitchen |

Don't mix ammonia and bleach, even by trying one and then the other--it makes toxic gas (aka mustard gas) and is very dangerous. Thoroughly clean with soap and water before trying the other if you decide to try the other. Just an FYI! But how much noise do you have to make for them to come on? Would they come on if there was noise coming from the other room, say the TV, or talking? That would unnecessarily wear the batteries out. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | Sound Activated LED's |

I applaud them for trying, but I boo them for what ends up resulting. Domino is really taking the easy way out. Although I haven't seen March yet (must be stuck in mail forwarding), I have many of the same complaints - - occasional references to really great beauty products is ok, but not every issue. Like it was said, I can buy Lucky or pretty much any magazine out there for that. I read Domino for design and decor. Stay true to your true calling! jennifer -- totally agree about the turntable! I don't have any figures, but that $500 was a ton of money then (and still quite a bit today)! I saw in that same article that $2.75 for an appetizer at a restaurant was pretty expensive. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | New York Magazine's Look Back at Gadgets from 1968 |
