Upgrading to a good vacuum is so worth it. I just bought a Dyson and was shocked to see the amount of dirt it picked up. I never thought I'd like vacuuming so much.

I love this post. I think the best example of how my design choices work with my lifestyle is that I DO NOT keep my good dishes, breakables, whatever on display. Having a 55 pound Goldendoodle puppy isn't conducive to having a museum-like home.

Also, we opted for a reclining couch that doesn't look like a reclining couch. Realizing that we have the "party/football watching" house meant that having a beautiful, yet uncomfortable couch wasn't going to work for us. It's all about give and take :)

My go-to appetizer (or snack) is my boyfriend's uncle's ranch pretzel recipe. See instructions/recipe below:

1lb pretzels
1 packet dry ranch dressing
1 teaspoon dill weed
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 c vegetable/canola oil

Pour pretzels into gallon-size Ziploc bag
Wisk all ingredients and pour onto pretzels
Seal and shake bag until all ingredients are combined.

*note: it actually tastes better if you make it the night before to allow the oil to saturate the pretzels. Enjoy!
