Just a small correction and additional information to this nice article. Alvar Aalto designed the Siena pattern in 1954. Ever since it has been in Artek's assortment in fabrics. Aalto's idea was that it could be used freely for different purposes, and in fact his wife Elissa Aalto once made an appearance wearing a dress made of a Siena fabric. Later on Artek started to produce small products with Siena pattern and this autumn we launched the Artek abc Collection which consist nearly 20 small products made of Siena and more.
