I second ana white's plans for the table with fold-down legs. For a 25lb sewing machine, you want more stability than a single bracket, or even a single gateleg. But you need at least the gateleg to support the weight of the machine. Help a Beginner DIYer: How to Support 25lb Sewing Machine on Drop Leaf? Good Questions |

I tell everyone I know to make sure they are prepared for the responsibility of homeownership if they are considering it. You think it's cheaper when you compare the mortgage payment to comparable rents, but you have to include the property taxes, insurance, and a budget for maintenance into the equation. And if don't plan to stay put for a few years, selling your place can be a pain and will not always pay you dividends. I'm Renting...And Okay with That |

I might start with just covering the washer and dryer with a tablecloth or sheet in a nice complementary color/print. You could put a tray with a few decorative/kitchen-y items on top of the dryer to help keep the cloth in place. Then you just have to lift a nice light piece of fabric to get into your laundry. I have the Brother listed. I bought it when I first started sewing 3 years ago. Even though I have purchased nicer sewing machines since then, I must say that when I need something I can thread and sew with quickly, that Brother always works. And it came standard with so many different feet!!! DIY Project Essentials: Shopping for a Basic Beginner Sewing Machine |

When I talked to the Crate and Barrel here in Boston about purchasing the Oasis sofa (I was concerned we would run into the problem you are having), they recommended a professional furniture reupholstery/restoration company that could pick up the sofa from their warehouse, disassemble it, deliver it to our house, and reassemble it inside. It was going to cost between $200-$300, I believe. Couch Disassembly in San Francisco? Good Questions |
