I recently saw some where the bottom cabinets were painted a dark grey color and the top were white or a really pale grey, it was hard to tell from the photo but I thought it looked great. They grounded the cabinets but the top ones were light so it didn't close in the space. Paint Color Suggestions For Kitchen Cabinets? Good Questions |

I much prefer to freehand it as my walls and ceilings aren't even nor are they level. I tried those edger trimmer pad things and didn't like them. Give me a GOOD paint brush with good bristles and a nice chisel edge and I'm happy. It takes patience and a steady hand but it's worth it. Also using a palette knife to put up in the edge near the ceiling helps if your not sure about going it completely alone. Cutting In: What's Your Preference? |

i have a fabric outside (pretty for show) and a nylon inside that is water resistant yet washable. Actually have two of those. One goes on the shower while the other is in the laundry and I change them out about once a month. The nylon keeps the water inside and I after each shower, I pull the curtain across, grab both sides and give it a good shake to get rid of the excess water just sitting on it to keep mold at bay. Ack! I hate it! I hate when people throw up houses in neighborhoods and it in no way ties to the look or feel of the area. Being from south Louisiana myself, it just doesn't fit. It reminds me of the people who built a "geodome" home back in the 70s. It's this horrible, big, round bubble of a house on the side of a bayou in a rural area. Doesn't fit. Ugh..my walls are horrible. My landlord had an air duct person come in and clean the ducts...which resulted in big, smudges on the walls around all of the vents. I've tried cleaning them but the walls are painted in a matte paint and it doesn't wipe down well at all. I'm afraid my only option is to paint. 8 Places Almost Everyone Forgets To Clean | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

lol...wow..I'm not the only one! I grew up in one of those "southern spotless" houses. We vacuumed several times a week and the lines in the shag carpet had to go all the same way. There was no dust and to this day I still don't know how mom managed that because I can't get rid of it...it's back the next day it seems. We waxed the floors weekly and there were bedroom inspections. There was no WAY my room could have looked like some of my friend's rooms with clothes tossed casually on the floor, bed and every surface. I was jealous of them back then but now, I'm glad that mom taught me coming up. My favorite chore was ironing and to this day I love it. It's theraputic for me...lol and I like seeing that I'm making progress as the wrinkles disappear. On Truly Learning How To Clean Your Home | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

Hmm, I tend to save the toilet for last as I use the wash rag that I wiped the faucets, outside of the tub etc with to wipe the outside of the toilet. That way, I feel the yucky toilet gunk is last on the rag before being tossed in the wash. Bathroom Basics: Clean and Organized | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
