@TheJackster: a lot of friends have asked if I'm worried about the legs scratching the floor, because you can't even see the covers until you get close and really look for it. And even after a few months, the first covers I used are still on there pretty good with no additional scratches.

I recently came up with (what I think is) the perfect, super-cheap solution for the Case Study's hairpin legs --- outlet covers. I picked up a package of 20 clear plastic covers for $2.99 to start baby proofing our outlets, and I realized the prongs would fit snuggly around the bottom of the hairpin legs.

It worked perfectly! They're clear... so you can barely see them, cheap... so they come in bulk and are easy to replace if they crack, and the rounded outlet shape is the perfect size for the little felt pads mentioned about, without having to cut them in mini strips and stick 'em awkwardly on the legs themselves.

Wish I had thought of it before they already scratched up the oak floor, but hey, it hasn't gotten any worse.
