Lovely! I would paint the floor in a black/white checkerboard pattern if the landlord would allow. A colorful paper lampshade would brighten things up too! Before & After: Abigail's \"Can of Paint\" Quick Kitchen Updates Renters Solutions |

For me I would say semi- minimalist. I cannot stand too much "stuff" around me, but like it a little cozy. Minimal vs. Cozy: Which is More \"You\"? |

Really, the title of this tory makes it sound like washing dishes by hand is a hardship. I have "survived" 43 years without a dishwasher. OMG, the horror!!! (Yes, that was meant to be sarcastic..) My Life Without a Dishwasher Renters Solutions |

SOME used furniture, those that are easily disinfected, I will consider, but matresses, sofas, hell no. How do you know they are not full of bed bugs, fleas, even worse, someone's disgusting bodily fluids? No thanks! I will save for as long as I have to so I can get a new one. Beautiful. What happened to the knotty pine? I hope some of the materials taken from the home were given to be used somewhere else. Anyway, this is nice, but I live in an apartment. I would like to see more realistic apartment makeovers. Before & After: A 100-Year-Old Farmhouse Freshens Up The Sweeten |

I work as a resident property manager at a 32 unit apartment complex. Generally as long as the tenants don't try to tear down walls or flooring (please leave that to us!) the tenants are free to paint/small improvements as they wish. Only thing I ask is that they notify me in advance and agree to paint the wall with primer when they move. Most of them go no further than that, though. I have been at this place for 13 years so I can relate to wanting to make some small improvements. YOLO: The Renter's Edition |

I am actually a resident property manager and started this in the apartment community where I live/work. We use a shelf in the community laundry facility and it has worked out quite well. I've seen everything from dishes to TV's put out for the taking. I've even put laundry soap and softeners out there that I had bought in the process of trying to find something that wouldn't aggravate my daughter's eczema. Do You Swap? |
