Iittala = glassware, Arabia = ceramic ware, Hackman = cookware and utensils, but it's all the same company! Confusing, yes. And I own and love all three and will continue to do so. They all make elegant, simple and everlasting products. Makes me really happy and proud to be a Finn :)

Definitely not, sorry. If you want to keep that sofa and still get a minimalistic feel, it should be the focal point and everything else needs to be *very* simple, sleek and monochromatic( not necessarily black and white though).
And even then I'm not sure it can be pulled off. Here's an example of a minimalistic living room done well: http://www.indoema.com/wp-content/uploads/minimalist-living-room-interior.jpg
If that's not actually your style, you need to rethink what you want.

Warm white: it won't be too white once you put art, rugs and furniture in it. It will be a neutral canvas to add onto!

Wow, that is small. I could live there though, I'm a minimalist! (BTW, I do wish you would give measurements in meters/square meters as well as feet/square feet. You do have a lot of European readers, too!)
