I would stock up. When I bought my first "grown up" set of plates from CB2, after I had broken a couple, I went to reorder, and they'd been discontinued. I had to start from scratch. I have a dozen each of dinner plates, salad plates, cereal, and soup bowls from World Market, in WHITE. They're also indestructible.

My husband is the same way. He always has tons of hobby STUFF out. He even has a room for it, so I make piles of it, and when they don't get put away, I dump them in his room. Then when he can't find anything, he blames me!

I would feel much more comfortable curling up on the sofa of room 1 than 2. Not because the sofa looks more comfortable (which it does), but I find it more relaxing/comfortable

I'd put the TV somewhere along that 16' wall. What's wrong with having a sofa in the middle of the room? It will help define the space a bit more, and then the TV will be visible from the kitchen as well if you like to watch TV while you're cooking. As long as the sofa isn't super tall, I don't see it effectively visually dividing the room.

Would this work as a dish soap replacement, or is it purely for stuff like cleaning counters and whatnot?

Our bedroom has always been cavelike, and any attempts to brighten it up just made it look boring. I painted it BM Mysterious, and all of a sudden our white nightstands and the medium toned dresser stand out beautifully. The room feels larger because the walls just "fall away."

We got a set of hand blown highball and old fashioned glasses from pottery barn for around $8/ea several years ago because they were the best looking/simplest ones we could find. They were beautiful, until you looked at them sideways and they shattered due to the super thin glass at the rim. After spending around $150 replacing them as they broke, I gave up and started using sets of glasses from Marshalls and restaurant supply stores. Maybe not as pretty, but I've only broken one in the last 3 years.

I made rhubarb simple syrup this spring and made 2 really great mixed drinks with it:

Muddled basil w/ rhubarb simple syrup, gin, and soda water (magical, bright, fresh)

Muddled ginger w/ rhubarb simple syrup, bourbon, and cinnamon whiskey (I make my own unsweetened stuff by steeping cinnamon sticks in cheap whiskey). Extra points if you add a slice or two of peach to the mix.

Definitely doing the bedroom. We sold the bed that I hated over a year ago, but now we're just sleeping on a mattress and box spring.

Susan, I've found that burying broken pots partway in a bed and then planting trailing stuff in them is a nice look and a fun way to keep using the strawberry pot a while longer.

It depends on the size of the room for bed size, but if you don't have the space for an expedit bookcase, Ikea has those curtain panel things that go on a track. That way you can pull it out and have privacy, or roll it back and have the room be open. Kind of like a hospital room, but less depressing.

Ever since I saw this at Ikea months ago, I've tried desperately to come up with some reasonable use for it. It's cute and someday I will come up with a use for it. Likely 8 days after they discontinue it.
