Light therapy is excellent. It can make a difference WHEN during the day you use it. There's a bio rhythm survey here: http://www.cet.org/eng/Tools_ENG.html

I was using mine too late in the morning and have noticed a difference in my mood by doing it earlier.

We have a really basic plastic saucer type sled and I think it works well. It's small/light enough that our 3yo can pull it up the small hill in our yard himself. It's structured enough that he doesn't have trouble getting on it.

But since he saw the episode of Calliou where Calliou needs to use a cardboard box at playschool b/c he forgot to tell his mom that he needed to bring his toboggan, our 3 yo's favorite is his Pampers box "toboggan".

We have two large plastic tubs, and aside from the tree, if it doesn't fit in there, it doesn't stay. It forces us to not accumulate a lot of stuff we'll never use.

Generally, stuff without batteries.

If you need to do a lot of grilled cheese, do it in the oven. http://lifehacker.com/5900569/make-perfect-grilled-cheese-sandwiches-with-a-pair-of-baking-sheets

Toddlers usually eat pasta, but I'm not sure alfredo sauce is universally loved. In any case, go light on the sauce for minimal mess. ( A pet peeve of mine is restaurant pasta dishes for kids that are swimming in sauce).

In my last apartment where I had radiators, I bought some decorative planters to the top of the radiators and filled them with water like the LLBeam steamers. No lattice top, but they did the trick for a lot less than $49 a pop.

There are better ways to throw off spam. Mainly, use disposable email addresses (all major email services offer them) on subscriptions and sites that are likely to generate spam. That's the email you get rid of every few years, not yourname@gmail.com.

I still have a "maiden name" yahoo account from the 90s, with a "full married name" alias that I use all the time.

I disagree that bright colors only belong in warm climates. I remember seeing bright (if somewhat faded) colors in St. Petersburg, Russia and thinking, this is a great way to brighten up the cityscape when there are long periods of darkness in the winter.
