Yes, yes, it is beautiful. Even the seemingly nirvana-like photographs are beautiful. That is, until you stop to think about what the elephant (especially) must have endured to "become habituated to human contact" as stated in the "Vision" verbiage of Mr. Colbert's exhibition. Love the concept!. I was thinking about putting it in a corner and then having garland and/or LED lights span the canvas, creating something of a 3-D effect. You could put the light string behind the canvas and cust small openings for the lights.... and I'm off.......

I hope someone deserving gets to live in this house after you. The lovely simplicity and tasteful adequacy of updating and not messing with is to be applauded. Very very well done. You've already got my vote for top 10.

I always recommend getting a cat or two, but mine have turned against me - they snuggle closer on weekdays and do the obnoxious-get up-get up-GET UP! routine on weekends. Aside from making certain you live a life you love - I have nothing further to offer.

I'd suggest homing in on the grey/white and adding complimentary colors like yellow, black, turquoise mixed in. Maybe a couple of neutral solids with texture and a couple of patterned, such as in the link below.

The bentwood cafe chairs are second only to director's chairs when it comes to absolute discomfort. If you don't want anyone hanging out at the table after the meal they're okay...
I'd definitely go with two upholstered/armed chairs at the head and foot of the table and simpler on the sides. I'd suggest turning the table, and either pick up a color from the rug or switch it out.
...my 2 cents.

I'd recommend relocating the dresser and replacing it with something smaller. The ottoman in the link could work if you staggered them - butting one up against the end wall and the other against the doorway wall. That would limit the amount of jumping space needed to get into each bed.
