We use our living room. We call it alibrary. Since we have a den it's no great sacrifice. I have a large desk that the kids can also sit at for homework and we have the other half of the room for seating. We also plan to put in bookcases, but we're not there yet. My husband tried to fix the leaky shower in our master bathroom. $7,000 later we had a new master bathroom. Apparently most of the plumbing in our 1940s bungalow had been, shall we say "artfully" done. Try as he might my usually very handy husband couldn't get it to work. To his credit, neither could our good friend who was a plumber. There was nothing to be done but rip it out. Given that we hated that bathroom anyway it was no hardship. I've never liked changing a baby on the bed, and since my husband and I have bad backs a changing table was a godsend. We inherited one from a relative and for this baby we got a cheapie at Ikea. With our first we used the changing table until the baby potty trained. Our current baby is two and we're still using it. I like having one central location where all the diaper changing stuff is instead of having it all over the house. No worries about the baby rolling off the table as I'm right there and because all my equipment (wipes, dipes, creams, etc...) is too, there's no reason for me to turn away or walk away. We had planned to get a dresser from Ikea to use, but got such a great deal on a close out changing table, and the dresser would take up too much space, so we went with it. I like this idea a lot, but then I'm a writer and my husband is a graphic designer. He can print graphics on pretty much anything. I think I'll get him to print pages from my books an use it to line my bookcases. That would be so cool. The Writing is on the Wall: Typographic Inspiration for the Home |

We moved to Atlanta five years ago and haven't made a single friend. We are introverts and have quite a few strikes against us: I work from home and we're in our late fortieswith young kids. Most of the folks our age are empty nesters or have teens and people with young kids are much younger. I have friends all overthe country, but am at times incredibly lonely. 10 Tried & True Tips: How to Make New Friends in a New City |

We plan to do the same, except we have only one window offset to the right, by draping the whole wall (no view, just our neighbor's garage) we hope to cut down on noise as well. Before & After: Disguising Offset Windows Behind a Bed |

Interesting, no quilts. When I was a quilter I used quilts to add color and noise reduction too. Then, I'm a quilter and have a lot of quilts. White Wall Solutions: Oversized Artwork Renters Solutions |

Wish there was a cotton version for those of us in the south. I love the look, but it's rarely cold enough here to sleep under wool. Get the Look: Stripe Wool Blanket |

Paint it white or black, keep the cool handles and replace the mesh inserts with some great fabric. I can see something Asian inspired with this design. Hope for Craigslist Hide-a-Bed? Good Questions |

Any local print shop should be able to do it for you. They can print onpractically anything. Look for some stock pictures or drawings of animals and download them. Who Sells Animal Pillows Similar to John Robshaw's? Good Questions |

There are plenty of printshops that can print it up on fabric for you in pretty much any size you like. My husband does large format printing on all kinds of materials. This wouldn't cost very much. Buy or DIY: Ticket Stub Pillow |

Exactly Jess13. I need two for my hall. Madly in love #10, but $1400 for light fixtures far exceeds my budget. Renovation Inspiration: 20 Flush & Semi-Flush Mount Lights (That Don't Suck) |
