From afar, this looks really pretty but I'd prefer not to know it is comprised of coffee filters. It feels like a let down. Apartment Therapy Boston | Hot or Not? Coffee Filter Wall Decor |

$100,000 to redecorate is kind of a ridiculously large amount of money, but I think they could use like maybe $5,000 - $10,000, especially, if what previously existed was not their style. Like someone else said, they are kind of "stuck" living there for four years and then they can't really benefit from those upgrades like a regular homeowner would. Do you REALLY need 14 bikes? Probably not. Keep one each and give away/sell the rest. I can't imagine what quantities of other things you both have??? If you really need to keep them, put them in storage. That monthly storage bill will make you figure out if you really, really need to keep them. There was a time when I really liked the look of concrete but now I am over it. It feels too heavy and permanent for me. Apartment Therapy New York | Roundup: Concrete in the Kitchen |

I really like your place. The gray really brings everything together nicely. You can really tell that you've given a lot of thought to everything: colors, furniture, arrangement, and art pieces ... it feels like a really liveable and enjoyable home. Silver is an improvement but I say if you are going to go through all that trouble, choose a GLITTERY PINK color instead. Make it an ULTRA GLAM Sears Tower. Apartment Therapy Chicago | A Sears Tower Makeover? |

Layered rugs might work in some circumstances but not in this photo. Here it doesn't look right at all. Plus, I don't ever think I can get into animal rugs or faux animal rugs. They look strange and dare I say, hideous. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Hot or Not? Layered Rugs |

I'm not generally a fan of so much white but it works well in your space. I think it has to do with the furniture you picked out. It's nice. I'd get rid of the light fixture and get something with more clear glass to give the dining area a little bit more elegance. I'd get some art for the wall, maybe some pencil drawings with only a little bit of color. I'd also get rid of that print in the living room because it's too small for that wall and doesn't really go with the space. Get something else for that wall, if anything at all. I love your place. It looks like a very live-able space. I really like the soothing colors of your walls and your furniture plus the porch area. For the windows, I would go with curtains of a bolder color actually, like a warm brown or deep orange. The great thing about curtains is that you can change them later, if you want something more subdued go with a complementary gray or blue instead. Also, I agree with your advice: "Take your time; don’t try to do everything overnight." I think that is really the key to growing into your space and living in it. This happens in Chicago every winter. I think it's ridiculous and some of the things that people lay out on the street to hold "their" spaces are hideous. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Saving Parking Spots with Furniture |

It looks nice enough in the photo and matches all the silver in the room but I think I would grow tired of it in 2 hours. It's good if you have a lot of regular lovers or guests and want to assign each their own locker. Otherwise, I really don't see the point of having lockers in your bedroom. I think it's a horribly sad waste of a living, breathing animal just to have something to step on. Surely, there are better synthetic alternatives out there. Definitely not for me. Spare a life and choose something else. Apartment Therapy New York | AT Survey: Your Thoughts On Animal Hide Rugs |

I would first start by looking at the things you have and figure out what should go and then get rid of it. What have you grown tired off? What's kinda broken or too worn for your tastes? Some people might say that you should wait until you find a replacement, I'm kind of impatient, so I think you should get rid of those things as soon as you can let go of them. For me, it's hard to see clearly sometimes if there are things I've outgrown clouding my vision. But if they don't bother you in the same way, then it is certainly more practical to keep them until you replace them. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: The Essentials? Los Angeles |

I like all the different colors you chose for the rooms. They go well together. Also, I love the baby on the bed even though she or he does not look very happy. Where can I get one of those!?! So adorable. So much cuter than those cats people tend to put on their beds for these photograps. I like that rubber ducky too. You are so good about the details!
