Does that mean no sanding required?
Just primer and paint?

I've been putting off transforming my Billy bookcase (from birch effect to a vintage white) because I don't feel like sanding it.

Just say the word, and I'll be off to buy primer and paint..

$950 seems quite steep for this table.
The table is nice and would be awesome in a kid's room, but it seems to me that it can easily be DIYed for significantly less than the quoted price.

Love Love Love it!
I have a never ending crush on yellow, but everything else in this room seems perfectly pulled together as well.

Anyone know what the smallish white ottoman/table things under the coffee table are?

I think the room looks nice as is. It has all the necessary elements.

I'm not a fan of the brown faux suede bed linen you have there. You could replace it with a brighter, more cheerful bedspread. If you don't want to do that, I'd at least get some colorful throw pillows for the bed.
I think either of these should add a pop of color to the room.

I'd go with some nice patterned bed linen in bright blue or bright green (since you have some green accessories in there already)

I would keep them. They look great.
I should know. I have been scouring the web for reasonably priced mid century arm chairs for a few weeks now, and these seem better than most I have come across.

I love the white patterned armchair and pedestal table in the second photo.
I'm sorry for commenting off topic - but that chair and table was exactly what I had envisioned for my bedroom.
Does anyone know where its from? Its probably too expensive anyway..sigh..

Beautiful place Jennifer!!
I especially love the corner in the bedroom with the white vintage table and stool.
And your living room curtains are beautifully done too.
Very calm and serene place.

Our living room has an area rug that we sometimes lie down on. I certainly don't want guests to walk on it with shoes on!!

The rest of the house is carpeted, and I'm more worried about stains on the carpet than the germs.
I'm okay with guests wearing shoes in the bathroom/kitchen that have floors that can be cleaned properly. Obviously, it would be really weird asking guests to wear their shoes to the bathroom/kitchen but take them off before they re-enter the carpeted zones, so generally a no shoes policy is safest.

I'm from Asia, so in any case we take our shoes off.
That being said, if we had tiles or wooden floors I would be okay allowing guests to enter with their shoes on.
No not wooden floors I guess, based on what someone said about their floors being dented by high heels.

TracyJ - I had the same problem with my glass shower doors. Researched it quite a bit, and here's what I found that works surprisingly well:

1) Lemon Oil. Rub the doors with a cloth or paper towel dampened with lemon oil. It does work well and the results last a lot longer, but requires some elbow grease

2) Used dryer sheets. These are quicker, and require less effort. I've started using dryer sheets in my laundry just for cleaning the shower doors!

Depending on the time and energy I have, I use either of these methods. Out of all the things I tried, these worked best for me.
