Love all the different ways the collections are presented! The globes are especially compelling.

I'm currently painting my apartment room by room, and I have found that no tape is much easier. Except for instances like my bathroom counter and the tub, not taping has been much easier. Plus, my 100-year-old building has been painted countless times, and there are almost no clean edges around my trim anymore. A steady hand has given me much cleaner-looking lines!

And when I do tape, I go for the green tape!

Love this house tour! Funny story, a few days after this apartment first appeared on the site, I was walking home one evening and noticed a cool light fixture glowing in the window of an apartment building. Stopping to admire it, I glanced past it and recognized the diptych painting (shown above). I *squee*d realizing that an ApartmentTherapy home was located just around the corner from me!

All those transformations are beautiful! And although I love the new bathroom, I'm happy to see others liking the old bathroom as well. I'm sure living in it is different, but it's pretty fun and quirky from the picture.

The office space is AWESOME. Love the countertop material and all that storage!

I got those a few years ago when I was still in architecture school, and although they aren't perfect reproductions like another reader pointed out, they're pretty fun little tokens of our favorite buildings.

Not sure about the tidiness factor of it, but I love how cozy it looks! I could just see myself wrapping up on it and watching a movie, taking a nap, curing a hangover.... love it.

Love the texture and hidden message in the headboard. I'm not a fan of seeing the words "family" or "live laugh love" written out so literally in rooms, and putting up a message in braille is a great way to say it without being so obvious.

Also, love the improvements to the rest of the room that you tackled!

The shelving looks fantastic. I do love the painted woodwork. In some cases, I am all for keeping the wood simply stained, but in this case it definitely helps modernize the space and make it very clean.

This is really random - but I totally walked by this place last night! My boyfriend and I were walking, and I stopped him to admire the cool light fixture in the front window. He mentioned the diptych paintings, and suddenly I remembered, "Hey! I just saw that place on AT!"

Great tour guys - and might I add that I'm also a big fan of Room 4.

I don't think the offended people are wrong, but I would have to say that I am not offended by something like this.

I am very confused and undecided on where I stand on the theory of cultural appropriation. So many design decisions are rooted in culture and/or tradition, you really have to take things on a case by case basis.

It is important that if someone decorates with something, such as a dreamcatcher, that they know where it came from and what it means. I think that if someone displays and appreciates an artifact with the understanding of what it means, it's ok. But hey, that's just one opinion.

I have to say I really love these pictures. There is something beautiful about the restraint in the design, and the sort of.... laissez-faire attitude of the arrangement of the spaces.

It's really successful because of how she let the architecture and the really bold wallpapers shine. When you have something so beautiful to work with, you don't need much more to make it gorgeous.

Yikes there is a lot of stone-throwing in this post isn't there!

There's a lot of misinformation out there on both sides. Despite any possible animal cruelty claims, I have to say I love my cowhide rug. I lucked out and got a sale on mine, so it ended up not being any more than I planned to spend on a threaded rug. The durability really makes it worth the money, plus it's the perfect little bit of fabulous that really cozies up my bedroom!

Fantastic colors, but I'm not sure I like the placement of the chevrons. I like that it's so different though!

This is a fantastic transformation! Love the idea of using swatches of cow hide in that way. My mother surprised me with a cow hide earlier this year to warm up my bedroom floor, and although I was initially creeped out by it, I now can't imagine my space without it!

I display a few of my charcoal drawings around my house, clipped onto drawing boards. It's a nice simple alternative to framing my own art, and it's easy to change it up when I do a new sketch or change my mood!

Late to the party here - but reading all these comments makes me so dismayed about my apartment search in San Francisco!

Previously paid in Los Angeles...

$2400 for a 2bed 2bath (in South Central)
$1600 for a 1bed 1bath (also South Central)
$1760 for a 2bed 2bath (in Downtown)

The last place was the BEST deal I'll probably ever find. It was brand new, had a w&d in unit, 2 gated parking spots, was in a private townhouse right next to a shared pool and gym. Only moved since I was leaving the city!

Also am glad to have come into this post to see so many others using mayo on their grilled cheeses! I usually get strange looks when I mention using it. It really does add a great touch of flavor.

Ick. More and more LEED gets associated with ugly.

LEED is a great way to get people invested in sustainability and is a good guideline for buildings. But I do think that people should be less invested in getting the superficial achievement of LEED status.

Wow, it's great to see that LA has such an artisan community. The emphasis on quality is one of the things that I love about local LA products.
