Hi lifeabundant- The clock is from Target. The table and chairs were a thrift store find.

I lived in Japan for awhile and my apartment had one of these... Its a good way to conserve water- and you get used to it. (Just like you get used to heated toilet seats and bathtubs that can fill and heat on a timer) but in order to get your hands truly clean you are supposed to use hot water... and the faucet on our toilet didn't have any way to adjust the temp.

That said, we did look for something like this when we were in the market for a new toilet- with no luck.

I have a Zodiaq countertop in cloud white which I love... It looks great and we've had it for about two years. However, there was a flaw in the slab and it developed a crack within three weeks of installation. Dupont refused to honor the warranty because we admitted we discovered the crack after we used a heat source (a griddle intended for countertop use... this is like them refusing to honor something that developed under a toaster.) However, since we purchased the countertop through COSTCO, with a little persistence COSTCO replaced the slab free of charge. (I officially love Costco now.)

That said, we've had no problems since and I still love the countertop. And we're installing some more and using engineered stone as well (However we are going with Caesarstone instead of Zodiaq.)

European style bidets always seemed awkward to me... but after spending a few months in Japan I got absolutely hooked on the bathroom features. We're redoing our bathroom and the first thing I had on the list was the washlet seat and a tub that maintains its temp without bubbles.

I've been stalking the Kreiss Ares bed and I did this immediately.

When I went to NYU they said the pattern on the floor was meant to keep students from jumping into the drop of the seven story atrium...as it looked like spikes from above. Probably not true, but macabre none the less.

I don't know of any floor tiles in the parallelograms- though it could be done with forbo marmoleum. I'm doing a more simple pattern with fritztile terrazzo squares based on a pattern I actually found on the forbo site.

Terrazzo tiles might be an alternative to linoleum, ceramic, or solid stone.

I'd love to know who makes the kitchen sink.

I registered for the Zeisel for my wedding, and though I loved the design of the plates I have been really disappointed with their performance. Within 6 months I had stained cracks in five tea cups and random chips on both the b&b and dinner plates.

Additionally the plates are oblong, which makes them awkward for just about any dishwasher.

We weren't particularly hard on them- and I still love the design- so I've put them aside for special occasions and plan on just replacing the cracked pieces.

As for Corelle... we replaced the Ziesel with Corelle Ultra (which has a more substantional feel than traditional Corelle) And its performance has been fantastic.

It's not inexpensive but you will have it forever.

(TIP-If you get a Corelle dinner set, remember the mugs are ceramic, not the usual corelle material.)

The faucet is fantastic! Did you maintain the old one, or get a new one?
