Love these pillows!!
I love etsy SO much & so would pay the amount they are asking. As an artist, I will always support other artist & give them the credit not to mention money they deserve. They need these funds to continue creating. Also, as the daughter of a quilt shop owner - people would always come in & snap pictures of quilts with no patterns made by my Mom - unapologetically bragging how they could easily create the same thing for little to no money - odds are they couldn't (money wise) & odds are they never would(time wise).
Give artist their due!!
Thanks for the etsy share tied into tech - AWESOME!!!

I checked out Mariska Meijers' website & was instantly captivated by not only her art but a quote by her on the the opening page:
"I don't believe in minimalism. There are no rules when it comes to mixing styles & colours. A house should give you a happy & warm feeling. With this in mind I create my art & my products."
She's preaching to the choir!!!
Love the bright bold colors & strokes in her artwork. The picture of her in front of what appears to be an inspiration wall is fantastic!!

Not a huge FB addict or user but anything to lessen the grief & headache when I do log on & have no idea what the heck is blinking all over my page!
So much for clean & minimal.
The tips in this piece are ivery helpful & I plan to check into a few of them! I have yet to try Google+...didn't really want to open another can of social network worms, but have started using Google Chrome & tinkering with Firefox. I love to check out as much tech goodies as possible & see what works best for me.
Always love the tips on this site!

Bending Facebook to Your Needs, Whims and Preferences

First Netflix, then Facebook, & then Netflix again... Being a gadget & techie geek girl - I'm starting to realize that as much as I LOVE to discover new things...I'm not as thrilled with change to my staples like Netflix & FB. I'm not a FB addict like some but I like to share occastionally & poke around on down time when I'm not reading. I hate the drag time & getting on there only to find the layout completely different.
I thought FB prided itself on a clean & minimal design as opposed to myspace. I would have never guessed that was their original vision judging by recent glances. I have a strong feeling that I will be checking out Google+ or calling off my prolonged slight love with facebook. If it wasn't such a great way to keep in touch (especially with pictures) with friends & family all over the world I would most likely not hesitate in pulling the plug!
P.s the "BLUE TABS" that fb uses to tag what's very important & must be seen...who decideds this?? Of course, I'm being sarcastic, but seriously!!?? Like a FB god is deciding whether I should see "Ms. X's" most recent demand from her farm game or my friend's most recent etsy discovery - kinda silly!!

Hating the New Facebook? Hate It a Little Less...

Netflix was all I could talk about when I first started using it. My local movie rental place was mostly only carrying popular movies & new releases. I'm all over the place with my movie tastes & documentaries, foreign films, classics, & Indie films weren't a priority. So, discovering Netflix was like Heaven for me. I was with them when the streaming began & this only made the pot that much sweeter. I wasn't thrilled about the price hike, but knew that was part of business-etc. But, the seperation of the 2 - mailing vs. streaming had me a little confused & questioning if maybe I should look elseware. If I was just streaming this change would hardly affect me at all, but I still want to watch many of the movies that aren't available for streaming. And, after hearing that Starz is backing out - geez.
I will most definitely look at my local library - great idea! I'm not sure what my future with Netflix & Qwik-whatever holds, but this piece was great in giving me ideas if I decide to attempt a breakup. Thanks!

Love it!!
I have loved Tumblr since the go.
It's perfect for my super short attention span & love of all things visual! When reading blogs, I get sidetracked & bored if there isn't any visual stimulation. (How embarrassing to admit!)
Thank goodness unplggd.com has pics too :)
(cause I'm addicted!!)

I consider myself a gadget addict as well as a book addict, but I've been holding off on an ereader and/or ipad-ish gadget. Not for any particular reason, but I wish there was some sort of happy medium. As a graphic artist I feel the pinch that other artist feel about there art not truly making the transition to the difital world.
I certainly not opposed to light book loads - been there & done that! I'm intrigued by the digital concept - not threatened by it. However, I heard a joke on NPR about one day kids might be handed a book & they will poke at the cover wondering why it won't do anything (like a touch screen) - so funny to me, but then made somewhat true when I went to my local book store searching for a particular book & handed a sales clerk the ISBN number. He replied how much easier it was when people used the ISBN number & how discouraged he was that many people don't even know what this was. I asked if he was joking, & I could tell by the look on his face that he was not.
I know this "not knowing" could happen with anything ( and does), but the gadget lover in me also loves the artistic beauty of holding a actual book. I'm so torn, but in the rference of schools - I'm also torn.
Interesting read & thoughts nonetheless!!

What a great piece!!
Growing up I had the attention span of gnat, but music, movies, television, art, cooking would grab hold of me & I would thrive. I was always such a curious being - love for new discovers & anything involviing the arts. I finally started to connect the dots of my love for the arts & my desire to create! Another starving artist was born.
I love to learn about new artist (Carolyn Sewell's illustrations are kick ass!) & what inspired them. I find it difficult to create or do much of anything without music! Thank you for some new tunes to check out & sharing Carolyn's words & work!
New artist, new art, & new music - what could be better??!!
