Love the pills in the vial on your bedside table--a very glam noir solution. Bedside Table Vitamin Command Center |

My mom's style was very Jacqueline Kennedy, so as a child I was impressed with the "hippie" style of a friend's parents--a curtain of strung beads that separated the kitchen and living room, lots of macrame plant holders with leggy plants. Also, the entire inside of a small closet, including the inside of the door, covered in yellow smiley-face wallpaper. What Impressed You About Other Homes As a Kid? |

We had the same intentions--that our dog would sleep in his own bed. He's our first dog, though, and a real cuddler so I couldn't resist--he sleeps with us every night (he happens to be small & doesn't shed, so we're lucky in those respects). Reader Roundup: Pets in Your Bed? |

Jennifer, your bathroom is nearly identical to our 1957 green tiled beauty: http://www.stagednormalcy.com/?p=264 We plan to eventually paint the walls white, although I don't mind the teal color we have now. the glittery bows are fabulous, and I particularly like your door color. my front door is black and trad wreaths typically “disappear” on it -- this year I got a silver wreath at Ikea and love it Forget The Wreaths And Give Me Bows! |

such a great post! we stayed at the RiverPlace Hotel in Portland OR with our dog and they were fantastic. He got a welcome gift, and the staff puppy-sat him while we attended a wedding for a few hours. I appreciate seeing a house tour from a different age group than typically seen on AT--it's refreshing to see a home that's been continually lived in for close to 50 years! I could see some of these things in a gallery setting--the "one glove" collection is brilliant. Odile's 'Only in New York' House Tour | Apartment Therapy New York |

yes--I love this stuff. I'll admit I originally bought it for the cool packaging but the product itself is fantastic. The results don't last forever but the application is foolproof. I use it a couple of times a year for touch-ups. Don't Forget about the Tibet Almond Stick | Apartment Therapy New York |

I'd add putting a light on a timer would be a good idea. We have one that we leave on timer constantly in our den. Also, a solar triggered porch light that it goes on and off regardless of where we are. We also try to leave a car in the driveway if we're going to be gone for a few days.
