I'm planning on buying the same rocker/ottoman, but haven't been able to sit on it in a store - is it as comfy as it looks? Thanks!

In previous years I've given up meat, cheese, coffee and cigaretttes. Now, though, I'm a 7-month pregnant vegetarian, which means I basically have no food-related vices left - I suppose I could go vegan for Lent, but I'd rather not take such a drastic step while pregnant. I think God will understand. So instead I'm going to try to make it mass every Sunday - we'll see how that goes!

I know this is an older post, but I had to share that I just got these cards (the French ones) in the mail and they are even more adorable in person. Thanks for the hint!

ADORABLE baby. And I love the way the shelves look with the storage bins and color-coordinated toys and prints. Good job.

Wow, that was some building. This is a beautiful room. Hang onto that coffee table!

Ana - how odd. But I have an unrelated question - where did you get that lovely rocking chair in the photo? I have been scouring craigslist and e-bay for something EXACTLY like it and have been coming up short.

That is the least offensive swing I have seen yet. Thank god. I'm immediately taking the one with the silly sheep's ears off my registry. : )

Also, Michael's Craft Stores sell Martha's line of poufs - I actually just bought a bunch yesterday for a baby shower I'm hosting. At the location near me, there was a pink/peach set, a blue set, and a set of white with pink flowers. All lovely, but way more expensive than making your own (about $20/7, if I remember correctly).

I am obsessed with this quinoa recipe:

But you MUST add a chopped avocado - so addictive.

I loved this book - she is living my "back to the earth" fantasy and I'm terribly jealous. Vegetarians may find her chapters about animal slaughter hard to take, but it's a definite improvement on slaughterhouses.

I am so excited about this event! I hope the predicted storm doesn't keep too many people away.

I should have clarified - I have the Leggero bed in mocha. The only other furniture in my bedroom is an antique dresser with a very warm cherry finish. It has worn black knobs, and I love the way it offsets the dark wood of the bed.

I'm not sure what you have in mind for the beech ply, though.

How funny! The first piece of furniture I purchased with my fiance was a Leggero bed, and we love it. It doesn't look very substantial, but the base is constructed in a very interesting way - both strong and flexible. We've been very pleased with its quality. The Atlantico bed looks lovely, too.

AT is one of the only blogs that I'm never embarassed to have up on my screen at work. Until this post. Could we please avoid this kind of thing in the future and stick to design?

That is exactly what I have been looking for - but way out of my price range. Anyone know of any cheaper alternatives? And has anyone tried the Room and Board sleeper sofas?

Cassis, excellent use of a Princess Bride quote.

I also adore this apartment. But one question: do no other New Yorkers watch TV? Maybe the TVs are artfully hidden in all of these photos.
