I had the same problem, and had my painters stencil a big mod pattern going up the wall: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v494/swingchickie/c9da1e6f.jpg What To Do with Giant White Wall? Good Questions |

There's a really cool mid-century modern house in my area that I've been obsessed with since college (I'm now in my 40s). It went on the market right after I bought my house, and I was devastated... both because of the timing and the enormous price tag even if I had been available to buy it. Fast forward 5 years, and it went on the market again, sill way out of my price range... but as a surprise, my husband (boyfriend at the time) had his realtor friend get us a showing so that I could finally see inside after decades of wondering. It was amazing to see it, mostly because the inside was horrible -- 80s lacquered built-in furniture, areas of the house were damp and musty, so much was falling apart. If I had been able to afford the house, it would have still cost at least $100k to fix all the problems and get rid of the peeling wallpaper, outdated carpet, etc. I still think the outside looks cool when I drive by, but I cringe when I think of all the work the new owners need to do. Our house is the exact same style, and we love it! Our exterior is off-white, so I painted the front door a bright peacock blue. It makes me happy every time I come home. Exterior Ideas for Brady Bunch Dream House? Good Questions |
