As a swimmer who always wishes she had her own pool in the house, the last one is just jaw-droppingly awesome. Some of the best swims I've had made me feel as if I were I flying and that last glass-bottomed pool is like a dream.

I must say that one of the highlights of reading Apartment Therapy is P2's comments. Hilarious!

I feel ambivalent--my kids are small, and one of them is too young to go out for more than 15 minutes (6mo), which is drag for me and the older kid (who is three). I'll have to take a sick day because their daycare will be closed and my office will be open. On the other hand, we have all the ingredients for homemade marshmallows and hot cocoa in the pantry, and the 3yo has great snowpants, so I may get to play!

"righty tighty, lefty lousy" (or "righty tighty, lefty loosey"?)--either way, that one line was an epiphany for me. Seriously, the clouds parted and the angels started singing...

I'm going to stencil one wall of my bedroom soon, too, and planning to paint he wall the darker shade first, then the negative spaces the lighter color. I was going to use spray adhesive to stick the stencil on the wall while painting. I'll be watching this tread for more tips!

I could definitely imagine being a child and growing up in that house--I loved libraries as a kid (because I loved reading and books and I never had the opportunity to spend as much time in one as I liked) and one of my first memories are of waking before anyone in the house and watching the beautiful sunlight cascade into a normally dark living room. Sure, growing up there would be different, but kids adapt and as long as they have loving parents, I don't see what the problem is.

Jason is amazing--pleasant and always professional. I have an upholstered rocker he made and I love it--I sit in it every night with my son before bed and we chat about his day. If I could afford to buy all the furniture he makes, I would!

I like to blend half pineapple (reserve a handful, finely diced, for texture), one or two celery stalks (ditto with the pineapple instructions), a red onion, lots of parsley, a couple of glugs of sherry vinegar and some hot peppers with my tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt and cucumber. It makes a gazpacho that's sweet, spicy, and vaguely tropical-tasting. It's not authentic by any means, but I make a batch every week in the summer for office lunches!

I totally agree with Katie333--I have a Tummy Tub, too and it's great. Felix had never been fond of the bath, particularly since our bathroom is drafty. Traditional baby bathtubs had him sitting in lukewarm water that became cooler every minute we struggled to clean him as the cried heartbreakingly because he was chilly. Now, he just sits in his Tummy Tub, feeling secure and warm. Plus, the tub is easier to clean after oatmeal baby oil baths--no more little crevices. I just wash it out with a little dishwashing soap.
