Does IKEA Actually Sell this Chaise? Good Questions
4/5/13 4:27 AM

You have a lovely place! I love the brick wall as such. I love your furniture, except maybe the TV stand. As suggested above, a bigger TV stand would be better. I would suggest something white, maybe lacquered to add contrast and something that hide the wire better.

Your grey wall is a bit drab. I suggest :
- to paint it a fresh and crisp color (like a mint green that will compliment your curtains). Then I would suggest, a brighter art. I think the wooden frame is a big "heavy".
- change your chevron cushion with something happier like a bright yellow or a black and white graphic pattern.

Eh! I am just hacking on set (found on the street!) right now!!! The chair was painted in the most adorable mint shade!! The table isn't done yet but painted in a "stormy" blue with a chalkboard top!!!

this kind of ugly piece is exiting because you have many possibilities. Depending on your style I would suggest, for the top : DIY cement or resine. for the rest : spray paint or wallpaper with a coat of vernish.

I so agree about the proposition of running a shelf just over the bikes. I did this in an awkard and messy nook in my kitchen and it feel much more quieter.

In the comment above, I was only speaking about the very narrow part of the hallway!

How To Add Interest to Long Narrow Hallway without Feeling Claustrophobic? Good Questions
2/1/13 9:31 AM

Hello!

I wouldn't create an accent wall, neather put wallpaper. It's way too narrow.

The high ceilings make it appear even more narrow. Making a dropped ceiling would correct the proportions. And then you could integrate some lighting like here : http://www.alarm-automation.com/lighting.html

I also agree a colorfull runner would help.
And, if it's your style, you could paint the door a bright color!

Hello! In Belgium, we have Saint Nicolas. Usually, children have tooo many opportunities to see him. He comes at school and at any extracurricular activity of the children. So yes, at some point there is a picture taken.
I have a 1 year old daughter and I'll avoid Saint Nicolas pictures until she's a least four (I don't want her to be scared). Then I think I'll ask her what she wants. But luckily, we have alternative to malls...

At age 6, I loved Kay Thomspon's Eloïse! Such a fun book enhancing creativity and self confidence, I think.

I also spook about my love for Color Kittens (for toodlers) : http://homeofbambou.blogspot.be/2012/10/color-kittens-margaret-wise-brown.html

I love the first 3. I don't like buntings (I agree with the comment on the strangulation hazard). I don't like typography in decor in general (I know, I'm weird).

Emerald was in my predictions short list (http://homeofbambou.blogspot.be/2012/09/color-week-pantone-predictions.html). I like it as accent color in some interiors, but it just doesn't work for me. I would have prefered a softer shade like mint.

Tumbs up Stream 13!

Plus, not everybody is obsessed with home decor as we are. Lots of my friends don't even know the birch wallpaper. It reminds me of a post of the so talented Jenny Komenda about overexposure to design.

Hello!

I love you choice for the layla grayce pillow. (and gosh I love the anthropologie's cushions suggested by Slangevar).

But I very much agree with thesnackhounddotcom! The day bed would look so nice on the rug!!

On the cream day bed you could used simple linnen charcoal cushions.
On the leather sofa a mix of the lalyla grayce and the mongolian lamb wool cushion from west elm suggested by Iruth (I think that on leather you need to use something more textured than linnen... mongolian lamb wool and kilims were very good suggestion).
