It's like Amélie, but all white. Some of it seems very car-boot-saley, which is not a bad thing. I'd like to see it mixed in with one or two more surreal or minimalist pieces, it's all a little matchey matchey to my taste. On Trend in Europe: The Modern Romantic Look |

I struggle with this all the time, in my fantasy bathroom renovation... or did, until I saw the glass bathtub on AT recently. It has all the openness of a shower, and all the convenience of a tub. I not only know my neighbors, I'm in a babysitting co-op with many of them them, we regularly have dinner at each others' places, we exchange plants for our gardens, we pick up stuff at the store for each other. It's great. Astoria, Queens. Do You Know Your Neighbors? |

Ugh, the refrigerator as art-gallery look is just not working for me at all. (And, yes, I have a kid.) 10 Organized and Efficient Small, Real Kitchens |

I recently painted my existing backsplash (which was cheap plastic lam) with Modern Masters Metallic Platnium and I am loving it. The brushwork really adds a great textural touch, and it would look great over existing tile, too. You could just try that as a test, and if you didn't like it, go ahead with your alternative tile plans. Just make sure you clean the grout really well, and seal the paint with a clear sealant.
