I finally figured out how to post from my phone. The new place looks great! It's a total reflection of your personality and way bigger than the last spot!

Once they start calling a neighborhood an "arts district" and building new luxury lofts it's pretty much over..

Agreed, looks pretty cluttered to me, but you all sure did a good job of fitting everything in its place. I agree with the comment about adding doors, I think it would take it to the next level.

You guys are super cute.
I love that your place looks lived in, and that your kid actually plays with toys and is being inspired and encouraged in her formative years with all the interesting knick knacks and colors etc. Im so over the minimal-sterile aesthetic and its nice to see someones home that really represents their personality and creativity/resourcefulness.
good job!

Awesome to see that some progress is finally being made in maintaining the house.
I was at Cal Poly Pomona 2000-2005 and worked for a summer on the house drawing the plans according to HABS standards and making a punch list. It was a slow, painstaking and sometimes frustrating process. I spent a lot of time there and got to see ALL the little details! It's an incredible house...

It did get hot in there in the afternoons, but the good thing was that you could open the windows/doors and get a cross breeze, and it was even better when the roof pond was full, but we didn't always do that due to leak concerns.

The back house still had a lot of the details from the 30's version, so that was cool to be able to see the story of the house, like the rings of a tree.

It has really sculptural qualities, with the Neutra's exploration of lines/planes/volumes and blurring of indoor vs. outdoor. I remember it was kind of sad because birds would always hit the glass windows. It even got me once! I was coming in from the patio preoccupied with something else, and I forgot something outside quickly turned around and forgot the door was closed! I busted my nose up really bad, but my pride was more hurt than anything! I still have a scar. haha
