KateOrange, it's the angle they took the picture from. I thought so too at first, but you'll see if you check out the blog.

LOVE the after. Great idea, impressed you didn't toss it and saw the potential!

No top sheet!! If I have to make the bed every morning, I'm going to make it as quick and painless as possible. For me, saving time every single morning is worth the 2 minutes it takes to strip/put on the duvet once a week.

I completely agree with this list.

I don't mind pedestal sinks at all, I think they're adorable (of course I don't have one).

What I cant stand is sink skirts. I challenge someone to find a cute skirt. It only looks good with a country (or granny) style, otherwise it's really bad. Go with an exposed shelf solution.

woww... well, I laughed at the article, granted I have the craigslist version and not the compulsive...

But one thing's pretty clear-- people with OCD seem to have a hell of a better sense of humor than certain AT readers! : )

I think a nice mirror(s) over a bookcase or behind a sofa could help bounce light around, and could give the illusion of windows, especially if you went with something to the effect of these--

MonicaK, I disagree.

Yes, a little girl wanting a pink room is pretty common, but if that's what the child really wants, let her have it! Antonia clearly put lots of thought and intention into the room with such sweet touches! The closet is adorable, but my favorite piece is the print that says happy girls are the prettiest. : )

(And the rug definitely adds to the pink factor, if she tires of pink quickly, just switch it out to bring in some different colors)

I'm loving this! So beautiful and minimal, well done! It takes a lot of restraint to not fill the room when you have so much light and space, but it looks incredible! Well done.

I second jtvancouver-- love most of the choices except for the rug that's a tad jarring. Maybe it's just me, but every time I see that rug I think ikea.

So I like the idea of the dip dyed tees (adorable), but I don't think any golfer would really appreciate them--they're going to go into the ground!

They're likely to break, and man would my boyfriend be pissed if paint somehow got on one of his clubs! Concept is cute, but I don't think so...

I like the recycle bin idea, but don't have the real estate for one on the floor--so I hang a re-usable grocery bag on a over-the-door hook in my hallway closet, which works for me, then as a bonus, I have that bag on hand for grocery shopping.

great tips, thank you!

I wouldn't buy anything fabric/upholstered at a yard sale--between pet hair allergies and bed bugs, once it's in your home, they're not going anywhere... spring for a new rug, find one on sale. Just got a 5X8 myself at rugsusa for $50 from a mother's day sale.

I bought some blackout roller shades a few months ago, and I've never slept better. If you have (beautiful, but) incredibly tall and odd sized windows, and lots of pretty molding you don't want to cover, it's a dreamy solution.

Home Depot will cut custom sizes, and they're usually less than curtains--I got 3 for less than $100.
