Absolutely stunning! I especially love the floating shelf with hidden lighting. I'm trying to redo a few things in my kitchen and I was just wondering where you got the table and the light fixtures? Claire & Jeffrey's Kitchen: The Big Reveal Renovation Diary |

This is perfect timing. I recently moved into an apartment building in Brooklyn with a shared backyard. The neighbors (I haven't really gotten to know them, but they seem about college age?) introduced what seems to be two hens and a rooster to the backyard without so much as knocking on the door to ask if we would mind. I say what seems to be, because I'm not super familiar with chickens, but I have certainly heard the rooster every morning at sunrise while I'm getting ready for work. So where did you get your faux "zinc" bar top? I've been trying to cobble together a narrow kitchen table and I think this is a great idea! Before & After: Abigail's \"Can of Paint\" Quick Kitchen Updates Renters Solutions |

As someone who lives in New York, the 30% mark is almost impossible. 40% is more like it. That's the percentage that I, and most of the people I know, hover around. However, I second Adriana in DC: I do save money not having a car, but every time the MTA hikes subway fares, I cringe. I would say just peel it up and try again. When you peel that first inch or two off, either cut it or fold it down very flat. If it's in the way when you stick the contact paper on the cabinet, it will not go on flat, causing bubbles. Don't tape it up as this gives you no wiggle room as you peel the paper off and smooth it down. Do your best to line up the edge and stick it down, then smooth down the middle and out to the sides in very small increments. A brayer is helpful but not necessary. If you have someone to help you, they can run any sort of straight edged object (like a metal yardstick, or a level), down the contact paper as you peel and it will go on perfectly. Sorry if that's confusing. How To Smooth Out Air Bubbles under Contact Paper? Good Questions |

@RYBEARS MAMA - I'm glad someone's enjoying Agawam. I grew up in Western Mass (East Longmeadow/Springfield to be exact) and I would never in a million years move back there. NYC is probably my home for good. I may pay a little more for rent, but I also make a higher salary and I don't have to pay for a car, so it all evens out IMHO.
