... the 'CURE"
I read all the hype.
Now:
How,
where,
what?
This site is bizarre.

Apartment Therapy New York | The Spring Cure: Join Us Next Week!

I finally found my way onto the official site again, minus the daily 'blog-to-nowhere'.
Is it just me?
This site is crazy to get on to the main page among other links.

The 'city' allocation makes no sense at all.
Go international, or go home.
Cheers.

This one is a WINNER.
Nice light pieces.
Pulled out from the walls too. Good.
Yet still filled with every-day things, and comfortable.
Well done.

Hi
What a good effort for such a small space.
Very bold move using that blue.

Would you consider creating an L-shaped living space?
ie: moving the sofa under the 2 windows, then adding additional seating?
Unlike the others, I'm not crazy about the dining set-up.
I know it's a rental, but what about a 'bench' of sorts, along the dining window with a table and end chairs to complete it?
It would be a cozy nook to connect with the kitchen.
Being somewhat larger, it could also function as a work place too.

Cheers.

Hi
I really like that you used full length drapes, and they play off the wall treatment very nicely.

Cute, livable place here.
You're going in a good direction.
I don't even mind some of the odd mix here.

However that gorgeous expensive floor is insulted with that, (purposeless) rag-style area rug.
Do you really need one at all?

Nice colors.
Fun vibe here.
But you have a ways to go regarding grouping your stuff as well as paring down and editing.

Nice job.
Homey, warm, and functional.
Nice to see the Eames ensemble separated for a variety of uses.
(I purposely use my pair for separate uses too).
thanks for showing it all.

Just moved in?
Some cool pieces.
Submit a tour when you're all set up.
I'd love to see how you hang your art and what you'll do with that thing (mirror?) on the easel.
Cheers.

Hi David
Your place really sits above the others I've looked at lately.
Nice colors and compositions.

Maybe get rid of the rug in the main area and consider paring down the surrounding 'things' somewhat.
Also the whole living room ensemble could be pulled in a foot or 2 onto the rug.
Or get rid of it too and show off those floors, as well as this would enlarge the space.
Nice work overall.

on second thought...
scratch that suggestion about the drapery panels.
It's awesome the way it is.
Cheers!

Hi
I'm not sure why you submitted this entry.
You certainly have a lot of stuff to show off, if that's your angle.
However it's done poorly, mixed up, and without much editing or planning.
I see no innovations, or just plain styling of any substance here.
Sounds harsh?
Let's be honest here.
If you're going to submit an entry, show off why it is worth looking at.

I really like it when I see a successfully done style-challenge.
This period theme looks great with the strong colors.

Maybe pull your living room seating away from the 'walls' at least a foot or 2.
Onto the rug a bit would be ideal.
A new, bigger rug would be better.
Cool place.

Good effort.
But I think Modfan said it all best.

Hi
What a great floor plan; minus the wierd bathroom ensemble.
Does it work for you?
That sink set up looks so cumbersome.
But maybe it's not such a big deal.
Why not really work up the painted red coral thing?
It's really cool.
Do a much larger one 'growing' up from the bathroom countertop level.
Fun place.
Love that you arrive at the dining table upon entry.
Makes it warm and inviting...and an instant 'landing strip'.

This is a real challenging space.
You could do a few things to finish it off and otherwise maximize the layout:
Think about pulling the sofa out at the close end so that the piece now sits at 90 degrees to the fireplace; yes out into the room. Creating a new sitting area.
Hence giving more privacy to the adjacent bed.
Plus the connection to the outdoor space will be more realized.
Think about getting rid of the rugs from your lovely floors.
The bed could stand a floor length drapery panel acting as a soft furnishing, as well as a headboard.
Use the existing area rug for when you step out of bed, if you really like that sort of thing.
Or just move it out.
Make it a habit to look at high end and budget magazines and ideas to inspire you.
The place really does need to look finished and inviting.
good luck.

Very nice.
you really worked the space well.
Nice flow.
No useless rugs hiding the nice floors.
Bravo.

Wow
Great work, the small space challenge aside.
Fun colors, personality everywhere.

But I bet you'll tire of the cute 'theatre seats' in your living room real fast.

cool bedside table.

otherwise, the place falls flat.
The living room is so depressing.
Pull the furniture away from the walls;
reconfigure it and make it feel like a place you want to hang out in. look for a decent coffee table. get rid of the 'area' rug.
Create a zone for the desk/work area.
