My husband and I save our loose change in a big silver piggy bank. It looks so cute while we're growing our fortune, and then, once it's pretty full, we cash in our change and go out to a nice dinner. I love it.

It's great on its own for dessert--a scoop of ricotta with raspberries coated in lemon juice and sugar on top.

I don't know what my favorite slow cooked meal is, as I've never used a slow cooker. I've been wanting one for a while now, so that I can expand my repertoire!

My husband and I love penne with zucchini, mint and chili flakes. And of course: butter!

I make a similar salmon dish: In my mortar and pestle I crush almonds, chiles, salt, pepper, garlic, and sometimes whatever herbs I have lying around (thyme or rosemary are good). I squeeze a little lemon on the salmon before putting the nut mix on the fish. It's delicious. Now I'll have to pair it with some ramps...

My husband and I have two of these mugs (lined and graph paper), and the lined paper cheese plate. They make me so happy...

The pizza recipe in the email sounds delicious, but the email itself was poorly written, with strange punctuation errors and sentence fragments. I love this blog, but I hate grammar errors!

Do not use the fondue mix from Trader Joe's--it's terrible compared to the real thing! I agree that Beaufort would be a great substitute for Emmantaller. Also, Vacherin Fribourgeois is a great kick in any fondue; it's a raw cow's milk cheese from Switzerland, with a stronger flavor than any of the others mentioned.

I see your point about being conscious of where and how Ikea stuff is made, rainy_day, but I must say that I have owned much of my Ikea furniture for years.

I have hot pink vinyl chairs to match my 1950s formica kitchen table. They are wonderfully whimsical, but not overwhelming. I love them.

As a Scrabble player myself, I love this rug. Wouldn't it be neat if you had burgundy couches that looked like tile holders, and pillows that resembled Scrabble tiles...? Yes!

I agree, it's too hard to pick just one of those options. I have a few streamlined mid-century modern pieces, a big comfy sofa, some scavenged vintage stuff (a 50s formica kitchen table, for example), and some nonedescript Ikea stuff. I also have a TON of books (what design style is that? Library chic?)
Also, I wonder if this popularity with Mid-Century Modern isn't going to wane soon. Don't you think it's reached its tipping point?

I tend to go to nearly all of the above answer choices for my flowers--to Trader Joe's for something quick and affordable, to my local florist (I love what they do at Gilly's in Silverlake) if I want a spectacular arrangement, and if I'm at the farmer's market, I'll pick something up if it catches my eye (and if I've brought enough cash...).
