I cut up my natural fiber fabric scraps into tiny pieces and use them with the bedding for my small, cage-dwelling pets. If the content is totally natural, I can throw it in the compost with the paper bedding once it's used too!

No need to apologize KittyAtlanta, that's just flat out ugly. I can't even imagine how overwhelming it must feel to be in that space. I makes me feel claustrophobic just looking at it!

@ Kushkush- Hydrogen peroxide will not harm you pets in such small amounts. Even if it were in a high concentration, the worst that would happen is she would have foamy puke for a little bit. Of course any kind of puke, regardless of consistency, should always be avoided, so as with all other cleaners, keep your pets away until it's all dried.

I love this time of year! I don't get grumpy about the weather until February or so, when I'm sick of chapped lips.

When things get really bad, I give my hands a good generous coating of A D ointment (found with diaper rash stuff usually, but it's an all-purpose ointment) and throw some socks on my hands before bed. It soaks in and totally cures cracky dryness overnight, and the socks keep me from getting my sheets all greasy.

I always put used up lemons in the disposal, they make it smell so nice! If it gets grimy, I pour a bunch of vinegar and baking soda down there and let it sit for a while, and flush it with lots of hot water.

I took the "donate to an animal shelter" idea one step further and made my old sheets into ferret hammocks and small animal cozies to give to rescues! You can easily line them with towels for extra thickness and snuggliness.
