Thank you everyone! @Suburbia*Sputnik, the pillows are a big no-no, but they don't stay in the crib when the little one gets in it! Also, @Borealis, it's very hard to see having only submitted a few photos from certain angles, but there is actually about 3 1/2+ feet between the pictures on the wall and the crib. An adult can certainly walk around the front of the crib there and fit with more than enough room between the shelf and the crib frame. It would be impossible for the baby to reach... and I also assume a few things may change around as the baby becomes more mobile.
@Kiwords- they are real branches that have been treated. We literally screwed through them with thin, matte black drywall screws to mount them all over the ceiling. They have a really neat, organic feel in person!
