@melissaann Just so you know, sulfate-free is not the same as BS/ACV. It's still a detergent that strips your hair, but with less chemicals. I was using Stony Brook Botanicals Unscented Organic Herbal Shampoo and loved it. Using that my hair stayed clean much longer than with any other shampoo I've ever used. (If you're a member of the Park Slope Food Coop, it's carried there along with a wide array of natural shampoos.) How to Go "No 'Poo" in 5 Easy Steps |

@doucement, I have a water filter on my shower. It's most important to have a filter on your shower bc hot water pipes have more lead and other contaminants. It's why you never cook with hot water out of your taps. Absorbing it through your scalp, hair, and skin is just as bad. According to the NYTimes water expose series from awhile back, if your going to filter anything, start with your shower. I uses the Aquasana one: http://www.aquasanastore.com/aq-shower-filter.html How to Go "No 'Poo" in 5 Easy Steps |

I have dermatitis on my scalp and it's absolutely great for it. That is the main reason I'm sticking with it, no derm visits and rx shampoo. I've been doing it for almost 5 weeks now and haven't gotten the hang of it yet. My hair isn't fabulous yet like it's supposed to be. I need to cut down the BS. Adding honey sounds like an interesting idea. However I couldn't do the mixing BS in a cup of water, it just runs out of the hair and onto my face. So I mix the water and BS so it's just beyond a paste, a little watery, but viscous enough to actually work with it. How to Go "No 'Poo" in 5 Easy Steps |

Help please? So after researching on the mattress websites for the current top 2 contenders, I went to C&B and Bloomingdales and non had the models tested. We tried a higher end Natura bed and it was dreeeeamy but $4k. We got the impression that maybe the Natura was for us but without testing the actual model, how can I decide? Certainly the deliciousness decreased as the price did on the models we tried. Buy it and return it if we don't like it after our own test? A Year in Bed: A Modest Proposal |

Cute! I think if it got too dusty it's not meant to last forever so you could take it down. Since I don't frink coffee I'm thinking I could dry out the used teabags though that might be a huge hassle. Used paper flowers design though in general is a great idea. NYC only recycles #1 and #2 bottles, meaning the opening is smaller than the body. Everything else is trash unless you can find somewhere to recycle them for you (1 and 2s that are not bottles, 4s, 5s, 6s, etc). I appreciate this, like people who are recycling yoga mats and Patagonia recycling its clothes. Wow you can recycle PEVA. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Ty Recyclable Shower Curtain by Grain |

Sara here, everyone keeps talking about dishcloths but don't elaborate on how well they work. Can they scrub? Or are they more like sponges? I'd rather not use a dishcloth because there's no way to dispose of them other than landfill, but I'd like to know more. Apartment Therapy - Good Question: Compostable Kitchen Sponges? |

Ecover! I love all their soap products. I do feel guilty though that they're from Belgium, and would rather have something a little more local. And I've been dying to find compostable sponges. Apartment Therapy - Kitchen Keeping:What Brand of Dish Soap Do You Use? |

I'm not sure how this is news. There was a New Yorker article a year ago in their food issue about the transformation of the Food Network and moving Molto Mario to Fine Living. I don't know if he can really offer anything more to a reality-tv/non-chef dominated network. There are better places for him (Discovery Home, Fine Living, PBS).
