One issue and I see in this article is I live outside of Portland Maine. When an article just says this place or you can buy this item in Portland I have to think do they mean Portland Maine or Portland Oregon.

Spring starts today Wednesday March 20TH. The calendar may say it is Spring however here along the coast of Southern Maine, the snow is still coming down and the wind is blowing up, down and sideways. The temps have not gone out of mid 20's. I think I will keep the winter quilts on the beds for at least a few more weeks. As much as I love snow and cold weather I am looking forward to being able to air out and clean up my apartment.

I live in an apartment in Maine that has the type of knotty wood paneling in the living room and study areas. I have grown to love this paneling. Having seen what my landlord has done with fixing up other apartments in my building I told him I wanted to redo certain things on my own. The living room had orange carpeting which I pulled out my plan is to put in deep green carpeting. In other words I will have a tree house living room. At present I am attempting to have my landlord pay for at least part of the carpeting.

What I just wrote ties into some of the other comments posted here. Overall I like what I see with this house remake over. If you have the money and can spend it I see no problem with doing so. However some of us are on very tight budgets. The other factor for me is I am living in an apartment which I have living for 7 plus years. I want and need to freshen up and redo keeping in mind that this is an apartment.

This story is very useful to me. I live in a building that has all adults between ages 40 to mid 60's living in it, no children live in the building. The washer and dryer is on the same top floor that I live on. The building has 7 apartments and 2 of these have their washers and dryers. My landlord asked me if I would help him out by cleaning it up a little bit say once a week. (I do not mind doing this)

I make sure the waste basket is clean, I have been checking and cleaning out the dryer for lint, cleaning the floor. The washing machine is a top loader. A few days ago I noticed my dish towels where a bit grungy and stained so my thinking wash them with some beach and liquid soap and then wash them again with just soap. I let the towels soak for a 10 minutes in the beach and liquid soap. Well my towels looks 78 percent better the and the washing machine looked and smelled better. Part of the reason I am willing to Clean the washing room is I do not have to take my clothes to Laundromat which would be a royal pain and time waster.

Now I do have a question for all of you helpful and smart people posting. Have any of you tried the vacuum hose attachment for the lint traps. I have seen them and wondered if they are worth the price which is around 12 to 14 dollars. Also can these attachments be used for cleaning other places. Thank you all for reading this post.

I do not have any children however I like reading these articles. I do have a cat so I have to think in terms of what he will or might do to anything I bring into my apartment. I do not see how most of the items that are being used are affordable. So yes it would nice to see and read more articles like this however the prices in this article in my mind are high.
