Suggestion: if you have a window that opens from top or bottom then put the adjustable screen in at the top. That way you can have air circulation, no bugs, and a view through your windows. The adjustable screens come in several heights...the 12" high one I bought at my hardware store only cost about $15. Same with the mesh magnet door...I agree that the attachment to the doorframe is poor but the thing works great once you install it with stronger nails or a rod across. Does anyone remember Limelight in NYC in the 80's? Converting a church to a nightclub where you can dance all night I get. Living in one would not feel good to me. From a feng shui viewpoint there are just too many heavy vibes to clear (funerals, damnation sermons, etc to name a few). The Ultimate in Upcycling: Homes in Converted Churches |

I think it's okay to have your refrigerator be an art gallery. Especially if you have kids. We don't, but we collect magnets from our travels and we LOVE art. Even though my feng shui training espouses getting rid of clutter, I do feel one can go too far. Don't be so hard on yourselves---you live in your home, you don't live in a photo shoot. I'm torn! On the one hand I love the after pics...but I think the moongate archway was very cool and really good feng shui. It could have been updated by painting the outmoded bricks white or even a charcoal black color. I guess my question is, if you wanted a wide open loft space without a round gateway feature, why buy a space with a round gateway feature? I've always been curious: do other people find that when they put out a big bowl of oranges like this they eat them, or do they go bad like mine do? I guess if you think of them like a vase of flowers it doesn't hurt so much to toss them out when they rot. Top Tours of the Week April 30 - May 4, 2012 |

@Betsy Bougie --- I couldn't tell from your post which was more fun for you- being the single gal with cleaning lady or the 40 something mom who does it herself? I have done both and the cleaning lady is definitely the choice I would make if I could again! :) Splurge on a Home Indulgence |
