Great post! My first art studio was the large eat in kitchen of my apartment in Venice. Making use of dead rooms gives your home new energy and positive feng shui. Don't be surprised if activating all that chi moves you right out of that home into a new even better place!

electric tea kettles are great. have been using for years. i first saw them in my friend's place in hong kong in the 80's. in maine a lot of people line dry and more and compost toilets are becoming very popular while practically nobody has a/c. nice post and hope you had a great time!

great thing about wallpaper is that it covers imperfections in your plaster...whereas paint will amplify those same flaws. great looking pics!

I'll try your method. I usually put mine in aluminum foil with some olive oil, a sprig of rosemary, some lemon juice, and some garlic and then seal the foil and bake it for awhile (usually no more than 20 minutes are needed if you do it on a high temp). Comes out juicy every time!

I just posted about this exact same subject : http://fengshuibyfishgirl.com/2012/01/09/why-im-defriending-ice-cream/ and listed what I am now eating. My goal is to keep up this way of eating for 6 months and hopefully by then it will be habit.

i'm curious: if it's a glass double door leading into the bedroom area i'm assuming you have another entry door to the bedroom since you plan to cover this one up? what was the designer of this loft thinking!? you're right to NOT put your bed up against the glass door without first taking care of the feng shui problem. I do think a temporary sheetrocked wall is the best solution since you want noise proofing, too. Another idea is you could build a custom Shoji screen and use plain or fancy paper. Good luck!
