All Bamboo's are not equal! We have two types of bamboo in our tiny home: Standard solid in our bedroom - scratches and dents easily. Woven strand engineered on our main floor - does not scratch or dent in a really really active area. I am a professional cook and we also have a spazzy crazy dog and we both abuse it relentlessly - 1 scratch in 2 years and that was from a piece of glass under the leg of a stool with 300lbs on it. We were hoping for a gravity fed soaker hose but there was not enough pressure in the rain barrel. After hand watering with a can for 3 months we opted for a submersible pump in the rain barrel attached to a standard garden hose. Kelly's Lush Urban Alley Small, Cool Outdoors Entry #14 |

To Rana, embryoconcepts (I am a former Embryologist) and Sweet Tea: Feeling the love, thank you for your kind comments. The Steel trough next to the rain barrel is a 2' x 6' stock tank that I use for my garden bed. Lettuce, cucumbers, and bushels of herbs! Such a tiny area produces an abundance of food that I can barely keep up with. The rain barrel feeds directly into the garden bed for maximum functionality. To "herms", until you live in Seattle for 44 years you do not have the authority to use the term "grey" out of context and Kelly D is a she . . . The cabinets were custom made in Estonia by our home builders family. The Jenn Air oven is actually a wall oven (not a standard slide in). Dishwasher is Kitchen Aid. Refrigerator is Jenn Air. Countertops are quartz. The hood is Zephyr (and has so much pull it can lift small pans off the cooktop!) Sink fixture is Moen. Kelly's Bright Double Green Kitchen |
