Living with an all-gray living room would make me depressed. I like the over-sized print, very cool. I do not like the camp chairs--it's what I've seen at tailgating before a football game, but these are white. The other wallpaper patterns are nice.

I'd be curious to see a post on Muffulettas. The previous comments have provided a good list, but as for hometown favorites, I have a place in my heart for Hubig's pies, Zapp's potato chips, Community Coffee, PJ's Coffee (because iced mochas are best when made with cold-brewed iced coffee), French Fry Poboys from Guy's...oh wow I'm a fat boy. Grits, Grillades, Gumbo, and then sushi rolls with deep fried oysters, yummy...

My garlic press. I do what I can to put garlic in everything, if possible, plus onions.

And yes, that popped collar, faux hawk, and attitude are...well...typical.

I have to admit that I have that exact tea towel. I am averse to white dishes--they're boring.

And I'm one, too, for scouting the thrift stores. People have a habit of throwing out perfectly fine stuff. I insist there is a "sleeper" item in every store.

It's true, I always end up buying something there. They carry some great greeting cards. I bought my first baggu there, love that, and I've bought lots of soap there, oddly. It's just a fun store obviously run by people who have a good eye for cool products.

Well my parents have a landline still, and also have a very cool, very old, rotary phone. And what I do love about it is that it's so loud, it can be heard anywhere in their home.

The only non-depressing thing in the room is the orange chair, which I love, btw.

These bathroom wallpaper designs will certainly induce release. Just choose a simple color and paint the walls, please.

I still have a Hillary sign I put in my window from time to time. I ordered an Obama one, too, still waiting on that. Regardless, I love campaign season and seeing signs all over the place. What pisses me off if where people decide to put bumper stickers, may it be on the backside of traffic signs, light poles, etc.

Do people still have land lines? My grandmother had a phone like that.

First of all, I gotta call out the small figurine, from fabulous Homies, usually purchased from a grocery store vending machine. I love these.

I'm from Louisiana, too, and I'm not appalled by the beads. It's not as bad as wearing Mardi Gras beads out of season, OR picking up Mardi Gras beads from the ground, OR picking beads out of the trees along St. Charles Ave (also, tacky).

And as someone who now finds himself living and making a living in the Northeast, there's a little happy feeling whenever I see something like these beads on display, and I'm glad it pisses off many people, the type of would prefer this resident go to DWR, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Mitchell Gold, or sift through a high-end garage sale all in search of something(s) generally-accepted by the masses as in style instead of choosing something that makes their home a bit unique.

I say all this, and I understand that some of my Bostonian friends don't quite get that I have Jazz Fest posters with Fats Domino and Irma Thomas on my wall, and that I have a crucifix with Mardi Gras beads around it, with a sign that proudly says "gone drinking."

If you people want to get pissy, why not create a long rant about how so many people can't seem to abandon wearing these Palestinian-inspired scarves.

Last winter I purchased the plastic window wrap made by 3M from the hardware store. Despite claims by my then-landlord that the crap vinyl windows were fabulous, they weren't at all. The plastic wrap worked very well to eliminate the drafts, making the room they were installed in very warm, or warmer at least. It was tricky installing the material, and make sure you have a hairdryer, too (I didn't), plus a 2nd pair of hands is useful, too.
