JEEZ! When you guys said pricey, I thought you meant into the $60 range....then I went to the site. You've GOT to be kidding me- $120 for a freaking cake stand? Not a lead crystal one mind you, but just a regular ole solid colored cake stand? Does it turn? Does it wake you up and make you breakfast? Because if it doesn't, then it's WAAAAAAY overpriced. #wontbepurchasing Sarah's Stands: For Cakes That Want To Stant Out Store Profile |

Just wow. I only saw this post last week, so when it was time for a pot of beans last night, I decided to go ahead and try it. HOLY COW!!!! I know I read all the posts that said it work, but to have it actually work in my own kitchen?!?!?!!? That was the quickest pot of beans EVER, and since I have no plans to buy a pressure cooker, this is it for me now. I'm absolutely sold! I made small red beans, and they did take almost exactly 75 minutes. I've shared this info with more than a few people since last night! Thanks guys! $40 at Williams Sonoma?!?!?! You've got to be joking. I have TWO of the exact same cupcake couriers, both of which were bought at Costco for about $13-$15 bucks. Ripoff! Oh and btw, they absolutely take up a bunch of room, but they're VERY handy if you transport a lot of cupcakes, which I do. Have Cake, Will Travel: Best Carriers for Baked Goods |

How come everyone always seems to forget the happy medium? If you don't want to compromise- as in, getting the flavor of an all butter crust with the flakiness of a shortening crust, use butter flavored shortening! Or half butter half shortening! Annnnnnnnd I just made the vanilla...DIVINE! And yes, the butter/flour technique is a bit strange, but the finished product more than justifies the unusual process! They were heavenly. The texture was lovely and moist. Chocolate and Vanilla: Two New Favorite Cupcake Recipes Recipe Reviews |

Not to mention Carrot Cake...I'd never EVER make it if not for the shredding blade on the food processor! I also use it when I'm making Mac & Cheese, becuase for me that's always an epic cheese adventure, which necessitates lots of cheese, hence lots of shredding.
