I don't have a space like this but I get the silliest gifts from my friends all the time. And I mean silly. Ask me one day to tell you about the Sponge Bob Christmas. But they end end up on shelves in closets because what do you do with a "grow the perfect date" that the best neighbor in the world gave you after a particularly disastrous date!?! I'm building one of these tonight!! I need a place for my teeny tiny birthday tiara to go instead of my purse! Thanks for the great idea!

I feel your pain as I've been in that exact scenario and I too do voice over and marketing work from home. I talked to my neighbor and she shared what the project time line was but there really is no way to anticipate "noisy" days. What I ended up doing was switching my schedule to start my recordings after their work day ended. Most construction crews end at 3pm so it wasn't like I was working late into the night. I just used the day to work on paperwork or mixing with noise canceling headsets and sometimes just packed a lunch and checked out the city. It ended up being hardly painful at all and I gained a new friend with the neighbor and construction project manager. Because most condos or tenant building severely restrains the hours they can work, it made far more sense for me to be flexible and allow them to stay on schedule and finish faster than waste everyone's time fighting about it.

I'm a hardcore note taker and I've always used notebooks and filed them when they were full. But sometimes, going back to find pertinent data is difficult. I'm a consultant and have many different clients so it could get pretty jumbled in the book. Then I got my tablet and it came with Supernote and I'm in heaven! I have books for each client, can use my stylus to hand write my notes and snap a shot of an equipment room for instance and drop it on the page I'm writing on. I can't believe how simple it is. I've tried apps before on my phone or what not but stopping to one finger type just ugh.. took to long. This is just as quick as my old spiral notebook without the paper or filing but I can organize! I vote App! :)

3 years ago, I shared the thinest walls ever made in a 1920's cute as a button bungalow duplex. Also shared an awkward doorway with what turned out to be the best neighbor in the world. Between midnight margarita's, bad sprinkler-yard party combo's and the naked guy across the street who thought no one could see him behind his slatted fence, we became best friends! I miss living on the other side of the wall with her but we're still great friends!

I got both a neck and wrist strap from PhatStraps.com and I can't tell you how much I love them. Not spendy - endlessly customizable (I added my logo to mine and a SD Pocket) and minky lining. So comfortable to wear all day. Especially for those marathon weddings! And they're pretty! :)
