Did you really come from NY? Whereever you moved from, I'm going to assume that it was a place without earthquakes.
Lovely as the pictures are above the bed, you don't want them to fall on your head during "the big one". Think BIG headache and lots of glass shards.
For similar reasons, please don't position the bed directly under the window. Broken glass landing on you as you sleep (or as you duck under the covers and wait for the shaking to end) is not a good decorating option in any west coast home.
