Well, talk to the neighbors first. If they agree, you're more likely to succeed at a variance request and then you could just raise the fence. However, if you think a tree would help, a dwarf fruit tree can be grown in a large pot, and they will grow eight to ten feet tall. You can even grow tropical fruits, like oranges or lemons, and simply wheel the pot inside for the winter (garage/shed/etc). Backyard Privacy Screen Ideas? Good Questions |

I went for no rug with my new hardwood floors, and I'm surprised how much I like it (I was too cheap to buy a new rug). However, I had a similar rug problem in my last apartment, and I decided to buy a smaller rug and put in on the diagonal. Two corners were under the furniture and two were not, and it was oriented to flow with traffic through the room. It worked pretty well, and the rug looked like it fit. My cat is very interested in the tv - he watches nature videos with me, and he will leave during "boring" commericals and return when the animals return to the screen. he also watches me play video games on the tv. So I bought a pair of cat videos for him. He enjoyed them a couple times, then got bored. I suppose it depends on the cat - their likes, attention span, memory, etc. Do DVDs for Cats Really Work? |

I'd rather just have a thank you note and a happy guest. I have food allergies, so edible gifts are hazardous, and I'm not a big fan of kitchen or home clutter - I entertain a lot, so if I need it, I already have it. Hosts & Hostesses! Tell Us...What's On Your Wishlist? |

My cat clawed my wing chair to death. I reupholstered ita couple years ago in marine grade vinyl and it still looks fabulous. My loveseat is vinyl (I was too cheap for leather), and it's done wonderful too - the cat hair wipes off and he doesn't want to claw it. If leather is out of the question, I'd advise you to use a good quality vinyl. Picking The Perfect Couch: A Timeline of Couches That Didn't Last |
