We do teach our children to act civilized, and they definitely know how to behave in other people's homes. But accidents do happen, and frankly it's easier on me to decorate with the kids in mind. Nothing in the common areas is irreplaceable. And frankly, half the time, it's an adult who breaks or spills something! How Do You Protect Your Furniture From Abuse? |

Nah... with kids in the house, anything on the back of the toilet is inevitably going to end up *inside* the toilet... not worth the extra storage space IMO! Trays for Tank Storage Roundup | Apartment Therapy DC |

Hi, all! I'm a little behind (won't be able to read the book till this weekend) but I've been decluttering in general. We're planning to move this summer, so it needed to happen anyway. One thing that I've had an issue with is, how much effort do I put into this house knowing I'll be moving in just a few more months? I almost feel like the decluttering is the most important thing at this point, looking forward to the transition ahead. I had an attic room when I was in art school, with a peek-a-boo view of the mountains. I miss that room! For all that it can be impractical, I love the lines, and hope our next home has that kind of character. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Inspiration: Attic Apartments |

The shower curtain rod in our bathroom is like a giant tension rod, and I think you can get them at Target for around $10- it's been a few years, so I can't remember for sure but I know it was very reasonable. It could be a presentable option if your curtains were tab-top or had really big openings. Not sure if that will work for you, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Love it... I don't ride now, but did when I was younger (and I'm hoping my daughter gets the bug). It's definitely a classic look, though I can see how for some it would be too easy to over-do it. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Equestrian Style at Home |

Speaking as someone who has a 5yo and a 3yo, I urge you to consider something more kid-friendly. A glass table seems obviously impractical. I've never seen the Saarinen table IRL, but it looks top-heavy to me- which would be dangerous for both your child and the tabletop were it to be tipped over. The whole reason I don't have a coffee table is because it would give the kids one more thing to bump into. If I had this table, I'd be on a first-name basis with the local ER staff. $910 is nothing compared to the money I'd be spending on co-pays and tooth repair.
