i'm posting another vote for yellow, but i was thinking less butter and more tuscan... so long as that suggestion doesn't turn your thoughts to any sort of sponging effect.

lots of blue votes, huh? is anyone else here averse to blue kitchens? i love me some robin's egg walls but there's something intrinsically unappetizing about sky-hued kitchens to me...

ha! so sofa-obsessed these days. that's crate and barrel's petrie, no? it looks great in that color! would you happen to remember the name?

as for your windows, rice paper shades - or just rice paper - could be a good alternative. the diffused light is really nice and you'll still have your modesty. plus they're cheap!

I own the Eugene sofa, in its' former incarnation (different fabric, higher price point) and have to say I'm not entirely impressed with it. I took delivery on three until one finally arrived that didn't look like it'd fallen off the back of the truck.

Seriously.

First arrived all wonky fabric and hanging staples. Second arrived with mismatched upholstery. Not even different dye lots, but different fabric; one cushion was oddball against the other and the rest of the sofa. The third to arrive was the one I kept but, admittedly, I'm not in love.
Craftsmanship issues aside, it's definitely a 'sitting sofa.' Don't know what you're looking for, but it's not a great couch for cozying up on– never really breaks in. Given the opportunity for a do-over, I wouldn't choose it again. Plus, I imagine the newly-lowered pricepoint hasn't done much to improve the workmanship...?

All sterling endorsements of the Eugene aside, Room Board was incredibly accomodating and their customer service impeccable. Good luck with your search!

Yes! White trim all the way. And I say this as a person who is generally hesitant to cover up bare wood. I think the white will bring the whole space together and complement the new paint color much better.

I agree with the other posters, I've found it to be a very schizophrenic magazine and, unlike big sister MSL, I've yet to walk away from an issue feeling imparted with any truly great ideas or information. [shrugs] Sure is pretty though.

My husband *already* thinks I'm obsessive-compulsive when it comes to all matters domestic, I can just imagine him coming home to me in the middle of the living room floor doing origami with our storehouse of plastic bags. I guess it's cute if you only have the need for the occasional bag...? [shrugs]

I'm all for Feng Shui but the darker colors feel really heavy, and the lighter, like golden delicious, would probably be pretty unflattering in the context of an bathroom--I'd imagine it casts a pretty icky glow. Northern Cliffs seems unoffensive enough, but I think bathrooms are great opportunities to use brighter, punchier colors.
When I moved to my current apartment a few years ago I re-painted the flat white walls of my teeny, tiny bathroom Benjamin Moore's Jamaican Aqua and I LOVE it! It's bright, cheery and flattering, without being over the top. I only wish I'd taken some before photos because it totally transformed the space and brought all the blah browns together.
