My version of this is a simplistic mix of 1 teaspoon baking soda in an old roll on container and the rest just water. I add a few drops of cheap oil and just shake. I live on the humid coast of Australia and have a strong natural body odour when left unattended but this mix really works. I even roll it under my ample bust to stop problems there after a basic google search showed positive with baking soda and breast cancers. I had major problems a few years ago using straight baking soda but have been using this mix for about a year with no side effects. Here in NSW Australia it seems that we have to ask permission for every nail we hang in our rentals so when I wanted a shelf in my house I took a differnet approach. Fortunately I have picture rails that hide nail holes so I nailed in two very strong nails right above the rail. I can take these out later but no one can complain that I have affected the walls at all. Then using some chain I simply hung up a shelf - an old piece of wide skirting board that someone had thrown out. I regularly clean the crevices and such on my machine because I like it that way but have never had to clean the hidden parts until my latest machine, a Samsung. I couldn't believe it when after only having it for 6 months I started to get a strange smell. I did a clean as found on Pinterest but forgot to leave the machine soaking for the hour. It is much better but next time I will try to remember to let it soak. I alos like the idea of using bi-carb soda too. Thanks for this. How To Clean a Washing Machine Apartment Therapy Tutorials |

I like to mix patterns and colours but always in a semi-controlled way. All of the rooms you have shown would overwhelm me. My first house after my marriage breakup reflected complete freedom but after that I toned things down again so that even with an eclectic style I feel peaceful. You have too many colors - dark wood, light wood, white, yellow plus all your bits and pieces. You also have conflicting styles in the doors. The door into the room should be changed over to a plain door to fit the style of the room. The dark wood trims painted and the room de-cluttered with the microwave disappearing below the kitchen island. Also paint the walls as close to the white as possible - perhaps a half tone of the rest of the house so the differences aren't so noticeable. Then pick ONE accent colour and bring it in with a two or three counter items and one large picture over the breakfast bar which should either be completely empty or else set for a meal.
