Another elephant crusher here--elephant bookends, elephant oil burner, elephant evil eye, teapot, lamp, stuffed and in soapstone. They haven't infiltrated the kitchen yet, but give them time. And I received a small herd of elephants from family and friends for my birthday this year!

I vacuum every 3 days or so and sweep the bathroom every day (I have a messy kitty who tracks litter everywhere, even if I cover the entire bathroom with a litter mat). However, I let clothes pile up on the chair in the closet, mail piles up on the kitchen table, and everything piles up on the desk. There's also a small pile of shoes next to the desk, and some cat hair on the blanket on the bed that's been there since yesterday. And I'm lazy about cleaning the bathroom unless there's company.

My pet rats, actually, are probably the cleanest things in the house. Them and the dishes.

I'm afraid of dark mirrors, so I close my closet door (where I keep a full-length mirror) and my bathroom door at night. I have to turn the light on in the bathroom before I open the door fully if I go in there in the middle of the night.

I do "perimeter checks" before I go to bed, where I check that the windows are closed, locked, and barred and the front door has all 3 locks on it. It usually helps my sanity. Usually. I'm getting a cat soon so it will be nice to blame strange noises on her.

My mother stores extra cookware in the oven. I store pots in the broiler, but not the oven because I once burned my hand very badly when I preheated my mother's oven and discovered a frying pan full of cooking oil in there. Since then, the only thing I store in my oven is my baking stone.
