They could also be Bjorn Wiinblad prints. Jonathan Adler is a big fan of the mid-century Danish artist and graphic designer. I can't immediately find any reference images, but have seen similar prints in the past.

Butcher blocks are neat, especially where you don't have room for a full kitchen island.

But what I really want to know is how they got the cat to sit just like that for the picture!

I love the look of vessel sinks, but they just won't last--either in terms of style or of practicality. Now, the farmhouse-style apron sinks? Perfect!

Yes, these are Saga dining chairs from Broyhill. I have two arm chairs, four side chairs, a table (boat-shaped, very cool) and a sideboard with kitschy stars cut into the doors. The line was produced in the 1960s--mine was 1964. It was the American manufacturer's attempt at doing a Danish modern line--so popular then. I got my set for $300 at the DC Big Flea last year with an original brochure and purchase receipt.

I really like how they have updated the very traditional exterior, but I'm with the others who said that it's very definitely not MCM.

That said, I wasn't aware that Sixteen Fifty Nine was there at all so thanks for featuring it! I'll stop by the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Some of these pieces have really nice lines. And it's great that it's all reclaimed lumber. I don't see anything about how they put the furniture together though. Is it going to last?

That neighborhood does have a lot of historic bungalows, despite the picture. However, I love the house. Why not incorporate a more modern look too? It's not like this is an architecturally undistinguished house. What I object to are all the faux colonials. I mean, have some originality!

I love this house and if I had 1.125 mil to spend on one, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat.

I went to the Design Center's sample sale last year. The range of prices is pretty huge--everything from $20,000 tables marked down to $15,000 to small fabric samples at a few dollars. Mostly pretty pricey though, even post-discount.

. They have a small consignment auction every Tuesday morning. You'll have to call and see if they want your stuff, but if it's any good, they probably would.

Love the show, love the set design and I don't care who knows it.

Thanks for the tip on the EW article!
