Two of the books (Pantaloon and a Little Golden Book) in the first picture are non-board books, so it works pretty well especially if you put enough books in each "slot" to fill it up.

Thank you for the nice words, you guys! Yes, you can make the hedgehog and you can drill a hole and you can do all this stuff! Just jump in and give it a whirl. It really isn't hard. You can do it! You can make the sailboats, too. I made those, just haven't written up a tutorial for them. I never get my etsy shop stocked up because I get obsessed with a new design before I can crank out inventory.

Hi guys,

I wouldn't throw it in the washing machine because I don't know how it will fare with the agitation. Be sure to use exterior paint and outdoor caulk, and it should weather fairly well. Thanks and have fun with it!

Oh my GAWWWW. I've been trying for ages in my mind to work out a ferris wheel book shelf. There was one in the library where I went as a kid, and I thought it was totally magical. This is too awesome. Really beautifully done.

Wow, thanks, you guys! It really wasn't too hard. I would encourage anyone to give it a try if you like it. I just tortured myself with deciding how to paint it. I sanded off the lion's face 3 times and repainted because my older daughter (age 7) kept telling me it looked "creepy". And, yeah, painting with a toothpick will make your eyeball muscles spasm after a while!

I think you are off to a great start with the pieces you have so far.
I would definitely paint the walls. I like that green block on his quilt and would chose a color close to that, maybe a shade lighter.
Then I'd push his bed up lengthwise against the wall and add more pillows to create a daybed sort of look.
And add a rug.
And some lamps instead of using overhead lighting.

I think it's going to look great! I love the dinosaur theme.

I love how all the alphabet cards look they are from different sources. So cute and not matchy matchy. Like you really put time into collecting them.

Beautiful room!

Yes, it stays upright really well when you roll it. It's more of a push-along-with-your-hand toy rather than a pull toy because I didn't attach a string to pull it, but it's definitely a toy (but still great on a shelf if you want). Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the wonderful comments! Yes, the clock is handmade. I stretched fabric across a wood frame I made, then stuck a craft store clock mechanism behind it, then sewed on buttons. The wood "flowers" are handmade, too. Weird leftover wood balls and bits and dowels that I painted.

Thank you!
